Hello, my sister is in fourth moth of pregnancy and has constipation problems. Since she has decided to take Colace, the situation became somewhat better, but she takes it every day. I think that she should not take it that often because of her pregnancy, but she says that she cannot go to bathroom without it. Is taking Colace every day really safe during pregnancy?
Basic rule for every pregnancy no medications should be used because of the growth and development of the fetus. After that period, every medication used should be taken under the doctor’s surveillance. This means that she should visit a doctor and see what he/she has to say about her habits concerning Colace.
