Are there chances of contracting an STI or STD while performing or receiving oral sex?
YES!! Gonorrhea and Syphilis can both be contracted through oral sex. If you are performing oral sex on a person with an STD, you can contract the virus in your mouth and throat. Also, if you have a cold sore (which is a form of herpes) on your mouth, you can pass that virus to your partner thru oral sex, or if they have herpes, and you are performing oral sex on them, you can get the herpes virus in your mouth.
