I am off to buy some new shorts this weekend because the two pair I have Asics and Brooks both ride up to the point that it is down right goofy the way I'm reaching between my thighs to pull the legs down every couple of strides.
I really don't like the tight biking style shorts, I prefer the lose running shorts with the liner. Do you all have any suggestions for brand or style that might work better?

These don't have a liner but they are the shorts that never ride up on me. I bought some Russell mesh cool max shorts. They're a bit longer, and not necessarily for running, but they've quickly become my favorites since they're cooler and longer. I bought them at Oshman's Sporting Goods if you have that chain.
I hate it when shorts ride up!!

you have to go shorter or longer. My favorite pairs are men's racing shorts.....(they are shorter)
What Sue said. Men's shorts don't ride up (as much) since they're shorter. I wear DeSoto split leg short (item #307) found here.
Baggy, liner and no riding up.

I'm heading to showroom tomorrow morning to check out some different lengths and try to pick up some new shorts that will be more comfortable.
:P
oh yeah, that's the ticket.

That's why I stick to bike-style shorts. I miss the pockets, but no ride up and no chafing which happens frequently with those little short ones. Yuck.
In cooler weather I wear the bike shorts as a liner and then my Adidas soccer shorts over them so I have the pocket.

Genie----they actually make some with pockets now......don't know the brand......but it's a zip pocket in the back
mj---try men's insports....I don't have a problem with them riding up....however, the elastic seems to go quicker than some of the other brands.......I used to love Reeboks apparel.....but haven't come across much :(
I have a pair of Nike's that that don't ride up, heck if I know what kind they are though. Have a liner, got them at Galyans. Not too short or too long, but maybe longer than the average short. Good luck finding the right pair!

So, did you just move to NC from Indy?
I swear by mens running shorts. I "borrowed" a pair from my best friend and never gave them back, and now I can't and won't run in women's shorts anymore. The shorter inseam really helps!
My wife loves the ones from here: One More Mile
Good luck
