I was just wanting to see if there is a weight gain when taking the suboxone. And is it good to treat pain like Methadone pills help pain. I have gained alot of weight with taking methadone for pain and have no shoice but to take it because it is now all that I can find that will control the pain without me having to take a ton of pain medication. Please if you can answer this question for me I will thank you very much. Thank You, Anissa McCormic k
Yes every person that I know that is on Methadone has gained weight, and a lot of it is water weight and there is also the thing where you crave sweets really bad while on methadone, I have successfully come off of the methadone for almost a month now and went to suboxone and I did weigh almost 200lbs and now I am glad to say that I have lost down to 170lbs I promise you if you go to suboxone you will loose weight and love it, your appetite will not be as big as it was and you will find yourself having more energy. Good Luck!
hey there I feel your pain with weight gain I have been on pain meds and then suboxone and to be totally honest with you nothing but your will power to the side effect of any medication (weight gain ect) will work on weight reduction and of course the usual advice to exercise. I have been on suboxone for over a year not only do still experience much pain I have cravings and side effects such as water weight gain which put me in the hospital, I go up and down like a yoyo. Sorry for the unfavorable feed back I am only trying to be honest.
Good luck!
