Hi everyone I am new to this but here I go. Over the last few weeks I haven't been well. It all started when I got like flu symptoms. I was not feeling very with aching all over and blowing nose all the time. I then ended up getting a scratchy feeling when I swallowed etc. I ended up going to the docs and he said looks abit white at the back of your throat but your be fine and didnt give me antibiotics because he said might be viral. So a week later I started to get blood in my saliva eveytime I woke in the morning or late in the evening. I went back to docs and explained he then said sounds like a throat infection so then was on antibiotics for a week but was still spitting blood with salvia. Went back to doctors again and said the same. While this was happening I was getting aching behind ears which I explained. Since then my aching traveled up to side of my head. I did end up seeing ENT which they put a camera though my nose and throat. Which he seen thrush on the throat and said I had acid reflux. Which I got given anti fungal stuff for throat gastric tablets along with gaviscon. I did ask specialist about my head pressure side of my head and he said he was not interested in it and interested in my throat. I left feeling dishearten ever since then the pressure and light headed is getting worse and I went to my docs and out of hours doctors I also ended up in A&E because of the headaches and pressure. Pressure is back of head bridge of nose and temples. A&E and doctors have said it's sinusitis. I have now woke up with burning sensation in neck forehead also feel pressure side of eyes. It's driving me crazy. I went back to doctors yesterday and they are now referring me to nero. But in the meantime I honestly what as hit. Part of me thinks it can't be sinusits doing this. Well my question is do you think it's sinusitis? And as anyone been through this? i am so worried my life is on hold. I have a daughter to look after Sorry to go on hope someone can help

Hello,

since I've gone through tonsillitis quite recently myself, I would definitely say if that kind of infection spread to my sinuses - it would sound just as you described. But what strikes me as extremely odd - your doctors did take a culture to determine it was yeast infection in your throat - but did they do the same for your nose/ sinuses?

Thrush infection can spread to sinuses and if it had that much time to spread, while you were treated with antibiotics, it could easily be the cause for pressure and headaches. What I'd recommend you to is to ask your doctor to do a culture to determine what exactly is causing the sinusitis and if it's the thrush (or even bacteria) - it can be treated fairly easy. It's just important that you get the right diagnosis on this one.

Wish you all the best!

Hi thanks for your reply, yeah this is what I dont understand. The pressure goes up my neck to the left side of head. But I get pressure bridge of nose and temples. Well got a phone call from doctors they are now sending me for a mri scan. I am just hoping I can get back to normal life and that because it's affecting my life and if it affects me it affects my daughter. Don't get my me wrong it does cross my mind things like brain tumor and that because it is scary. I also have another ENT appointment in a few weeks. So I am going to have another go at them about this. Just feels like you have to fight with a'll these doctors and specialist about things like there is no care.but fingers crossed I will get somewhere in a couple of weeks :/
