My almost 4-year old has an enlarged lymph node on his neck for the third time since December. The first two times the doctor diagnosed a sore throat and said the sore throat was causing the enlarged lymph node. He prescribed antibiotics both times and the lymph node went back to normal size each time within 2-3 weeks. I also want to say that each time the lymph node got infected it would do so rapidly; we would look at my son in the morning and he would be fine and in the afternoon his lymph node would be sticking out. This most recent time with the enlarged lymph node (and it's always the same one) his tonsil was very infected. So we are on another antibiotic. I am concerned that my son is complaining of and itching his neck/throat area (front and back). What would be making his neck/throat itch so bad?
