Hi, I seem to have the same symptoms as you, I just got this a couple days ago and from the looks of this form we have a real problem here. But I read another post that says yeast/gluten can be the cause, and I've heard good results from people using Candex. So I'm gonna give that a try

Guys - I'm sorry We haven't figured this out yet! I have some more to add though ;
I have had swelling in my face, hands, and tounge for the last few days. I have the rash that looks like normal Hives I Guess. They reappear in random spots. I don't Drink, I don't smoke, I am a virgin, and I haven't changed anything in my diet or soaps (Laundry, Bar soap, etc.) I am going to se an Allergst but thats not for a few weeks! Benadrly took away the sweeling of my face and tounge but not my hands. The rashes and itching were so bad and painful I went to the ER yesterday becasue I was also having trouble breathing. I have a dog that sheds all over the place but I have had him here for awhile. At least 5 weeks.
Here's what the ER Nurse did for me -
She said I should see and allergist. She prescribed prednisone, cimetidine, and Hydroxyzone. They worked great at the place and I was able to sleep just fine when I got home. The rashes and itching were mostly gone, but not completely. Now they are back with Avengence! The Medications are not helping a ton but they are helping. I can't sleep because of the pain of itching/irritated hyves. I have no answers Either. Don't go to the ER unless you can't breathe (I was havng problems breathing)
Dr. House can you slve my problem? Hit me with your cane, I don't care!

Oh, woe to those of us who suffer deeply from all of these horrible skin conditions. I was going along life just fine, when quite suddenly, in my early 30's, I too started becoming skin sensitive to just about everything. I cannot ever use anything that has a fragrance, dryer sheets, laundry soap, perfumes, soaps, anything that smells. I'm now in my late 40's, if that isn't bad enough... and yet, after numerous visits with the dr., several different medications of which none really worked. Unfortunately, I only get temporary solutions to a permanent problem. Steroids are dangerous to use long term but lately have found that they are the only thing that has worked to ease my symptoms. Soon as I'm done with the course, the symptoms immediately return. I think I'm still in much denial, because there are certain things we eat (salt, junk food, etc.) and drink (too much alcohol, too much caffeine, etc...) not to mention the Over the counter products and prescriptions that we take that add to the mix. At this stage in the game, I believe after years and years of trying to eat healthy and not drink alcohol, I'm afraid it's a way of life for me. Change is hard. I feel like a heart attack waiting to happen. There is much stress that isn't easily resolved and will have to be dealt with, mostly with my health. We all know that stress is a killer.
The other things that are unfortunate are that if you don't have the money, you are going to suffer. I don't have insurance so I will continue to suffer. The other thing is, it could be just one or two out of a billion things that could be doing this to us. Like pulling a needle from a haystack to find a solution. In the last year alone I've gone to the dr. at least 15 times. These are REAL symptoms, not imagined. I don't feel neurotic at all and I know this is all real and there is a treatment out there just waiting for me to discover it. I don't care what the dr. thinks, and neither should anyone else here because these symptoms can be life altering as they have for me.
Wrong diagnosis has a multi-symptom checker that I use, and just about every time, it tells me about dermomyolitis, or cirrosis of some kind. All my symptoms point to those two most often, every now and then a new symptom will pop up, something weird. I keep track of whatever comes up.
The trick I've been told is to try and find a dr. who cares and wants to get to the root of your problem. Mostly I feel rushed and un-satisfied when I go to the dr. I feel as if he doesn't really care or doesn't want to do much to ease the symptoms. I have yet to find a dr. who gives a damn really.
Check this, I smoked chemical filled cigarettes for years and quit smoking recently (3 months ago) and I actually feel worse physically now than I did when I smoked. Maybe there was a chemical in those cigarettes that treated my symptoms. Who knows. All I know now is that I need relief as we all seem to. I feel your pain and wish I could offer up some good leads to all our troubles. This seems kind of silly but sometimes I feel so distressed because of all this that secretly it is driving me mad. I would also like to add that drs. are not always right in their diagnoses. When your dr. tells you that it is all in your head, what he's really trying to say is, "I don't really care for your general well-being and health and I don't want to put my time and energy into researching your conditions any further". So, to you my friend, maybe you should look for a more caring and understanding dr., one who will take the time to meet your needs and won't judge you and think your wacky because you have some physical conditions that need to be addressed.
I would look into that blood thinner, don't be afraid to ask your dr. why he put you on a blood thinner in the first place? Drs. can be intimidating but you are paying him/her for a service and if you don't ask, they won't know to tell you what you want to know.
Good luck to all of you on finding cures.

i am only 14 years old. i wake up every morning with a itchy rash ( like hives) all over my body, sometime even swelling occurs to my lips, feet, and hands. Ive been to the doctor, allergist, and dermatologist many times. the doctor's have told me it's hives. the allergist have told me it could be an antibody in my skin, they are still checking tho. and the dermatologist said the same thing about the hives and that they would go away soon, then come back again most likely.

My daughter has the same sympyoms and she is 13. She was put on Zantac and reactin, and they have helped, she hasnt had a break out since she started them, mind you , she has to take them faithfully every day and on time. Try that, and you can get both drugs over the counter.

I have been searching all over the internet for a connection between the swelling of my hands and feet and the swelling and hives that sometimes cover my eye lids and lips. I too thought that after drinking a couple of my favorite drinks it might be linked with alcohol, but the more I look into others complaints and test results I am plauged with more questions. I have not been to the doctor for the swelling yet because it seems that everytime I turn around my eyelids are swelling shut and I am having to get an emergency appointment with my doctor. This has happened twice this last month and it took almost 10 days for the swelling and hives on my face to go away. I am wondering if this might have something to do with Celiac disease. I havent been diagnosed with it but my son has. There is a very real possibility that I could have it too. Can Celiac disease cause swelling? I know that CD can cause a rash that is similar to hives. There seems to be no answers to my questions.

My 3 year old is having the same problem. She broke out with a rash that started on her back and then spread all over her body, so we took her to urgent care. They gave us steroids and those didn't help at all. So we took her to her doctor and he gave us that famous "I don't know". This morning she woke up and her hands feet and face are swollen. Her upper lip is so swollen she resembles a duck. If anyone has any idea what this is it would be greatly appreciated.

I have recently been diagnosed with a massive vitamin D deficiency, which took away a multitude of other symptoms. The extremely Itchy rashes continue, and they Are different types on different parts of my body, for instance on either side of my rib cage is sorta dry patchy, my hips and lower back break out in hive type rash, my hands and only certain spots on my arms (but the exact same spot on both arms) will simply just itch like crazy. Any or all of these areas will "flare up". I also have not been able to find out what is the problem - It's almost as if the itch is coming from the inside out... I can't take much more, and on theory only- think auto immune issues may be related- As for the swelling, Face, hands, feet (also get very hot), calves- and my skin gets very sensitive almost as if I'm sunburned or the skin is stretched too much from the swelling.

Actually my brother has had the same symptoms and it started when hes was very young. Not knowing if it was some kind of allergic reaction to something, my mother took him the doctors as well as to an allergist. However, they were unable to find the exact cause of the occuring rash which as we found out was urticaria also known as the hives. His symptoms included itchy raised red bumps that began as, what looked like misquito bites. At first they would appear in one spot, then the next day they would fade but more came and larger than those prior. Within a few days the hives had spread all over his body and caused his feet, hands and face to swell enormously so much so that he couldn't walk, or make a fist and his face hurt from the pressure of the swelling. The doctors said there was nothing they could do but recommended benydril which works well. We also bought him a benydril itching cream that also helped. We also had him drink plenty of water to help flush out the impurities from his body and helped get rid of it faster. We do watch him carefully to make sure his throat does not swell and that he has no trouble breathing. It is disheartening to know there isn't much that doctors can do, but i don't recommend taking any steriods, for they can have serious side affects. The best thing you can do is also make sure the person infected does not wear any constricting clothes, shorts and a lightweight cotton t-shirt are best. Also make sure you do your research. Although there isnt a cure for this, you can look up the symptoms online to help get a better understanding of how it might have happened and how to treat it.

I had all the above mentioned, after 6 long months of pain, they finally found out here in UK at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital that my LIVER was deranged. So guys before you do anything get your liver tested - Liver is main organ responsible for all immunological effects including detoxification( filter), protein synthesis, and production of biochemicals necessary for digestion and health skin. Liver problems can also can affect the blood which in return might affect you Lymph nodes and if these are not working well you will get swelling/ fluid retention. You are getting rash, because you body is using the skin to get rid of toxins rather than your liver...So get tested quickly before it becomes cancerous - you will need to change you diet as well, while in treatment ( I suggest you see a Medical physician (Medical Dr.)who also has D.Th.D(Dist),D.N.Med(Dist),D.Iridol,Adv.D.N.Med). All the best

Hi, I have had the same similar problems since 2003, I have been to allergist, MD's, foot doctors, allergists had bloodwork, biopsys, chemical and food allergy tests and no one can seem to give me any answers. I get swollen spots if I lean on something too long, carry a heavy bag on my arm too long and my arm swells, work in the yard with scissors my hands swell. I even swell when I am in my hot tub and lean over the edge to talk to a friend that is not in the tub and the edge I lean over gives me a perfect swollen line across my stomach. I wore a skirt that was too tight to work and I was swollen around my entire mid section for a day. I know that 1 zyrtec a day does help alot but does not cure. If you miss taking zyrtec for a couple of days and swellingm almost immediately comes back. I struggle daily and deal with pain daily. I would do anything for a cure. I have a hard time working because I get swollen spots on my feet and sometimes the swelling gets soo bad it brings blisters to the surface of my skin on my foot, looking as if I had a sunburn or burnt myself cooking.

I started having the symptoms on the bottom of my feet about three weeks ago. Starts with itching, and even with mild rubbing vs scratching, the area will swell hard as a rock, and feels like bone spurs when i walk. I take Claritin or allergy meds because the itching is unbearable. I have begun having large itchy welts about the size of a half dollar on various areas, like hips and stomach, similar to a allergic reaction. The other day i noticed after working in the yard that the fleshy area under my thumb was swollen and slightly itchy. Thought maybe I got into something or touched a bush i was allergic to. The next morning it was still swollen and stiff feeling up into the wrist area. Stayed that way for two days and was gone the following morning. Right now my right heel is itching and swelling and turning hard, it is driving me nuts!

I also have more or less the similar symptoms and have been suffering for a year. I have seen the dermatologist, allergist, gastro. But the problem has not so far been diagnosed. Allergist and dermatologist have given up. Gastro will perform an endoscopy. Initially it was suspected to be celeac disease. I went on glutten free diet. It helped for 2-3 months. I thought I have found the cuase of the problem. However, for the last about 2-3 weeks the rashes and swellings are coming back even when I am taking glutten free diet. Coupled with swelling and bumps which can come anywhere on the body and which cover a large area at one place say about an area of 3-5 inches, I also keep pain in my abdomen. The abdomen pain occurs more after I eat anything.
So far nothing has been diagnosed. If anyone knows anything about this, please share with me.
