There were many options, for me using the Vitamin C vaginally over night alleviated the smell. (I did this 1 time).

Yes, I had the Depo shot in the past. The first 3 months were great, I skipped my menstrual cycle. After that, it was horrible. Had a period for a month straight, heavy flow with lots of blood clots. I had to switch

So glad I came across this. I have had my IUD for almost the full 5 years now and I didn't start getting BV until this last year. I have gotten it 6 times this year and I kept going to my gyn trying different medicines which would cure it for a week or so then it would return. We tried so many different medicines and nothing could keep it away for good. I had a feeling it was the IUD causing it but she told me she didn't think so. I have 5 months left until my 5 years is up but I made an appointment and I'm getting it out tomorrow! I can not wait! I will NEVER get an IUD again.

Just scheduled to have mine out as well! This is year will be five for me. I would constantly have to explain to my GYN why I needed another prescription for the medication. She wanted to send me to a specialist... for what!?! It was the IUD that was cause BV...UTI....Yeast Infections. I was newly married at the time I had it placed so imagine me explaining to my new husband why I didn’t want him to come near me. I was mortified! It’s ashame what we as women have to go through now a days! They need to come up with something better!

This is so good to know. I am being treated for the very same thing and am having the mirena removed and the paraguard inserts. Let’s hope I don’t have the same problem again. It’s so embarrassing.

Nothing is wrong with you, I thought the same thing. Finally I got checked and have a bacterial overgrowth. I’m pretty sure it’s BV. I tried everything. Boric acid. Doushing with warm water and keeping the bottle in my shower. Probiotics. Gels. Etc. finally I’m on an antibiotic with an appointment to have this removed.

I had my mirena in for one year before the pain was too much. After it was removed my dr sent for it to be tested and I had a staph infection from it. I’ve been back once since then with a yeast infection. That was treated but I’m pretty sure I have another one now

What can I say.....Mirena coil is hell! After painful heavy periods, I was adviced this would be my saviour and at 51 I would breeze through menopause with it. From the the minute it was fitted the intense cramping and bleeding began. I was patient and listened (stupidly) to all the medics...persevere they would say and once at the ER even told me Mirena could be acting as "flood defence" and things may get a lot worse if they removed it! Foolishly I believed them and went home loaded with medication to ease the pain and slow the bleeding. These meds caused further complications to my gut! After 18 months of pain, bloating, hairloss, anaemia...no sex life (my husband has been very supportive), weight gain, headaches...the list is endless! 5 weeks ago I demanded, yes they still wanted me to persevere, it was removed.Quick and painless and not a spot of blood since! My hair is looking better, I feel my confidence coming back and I'm getting back to being me. I have had some hot flushes and night sweats but nothing too bad. My husband has since told me he often could see the pain in my face even if I hadn't said anything..you get a bit fed up complaing all the time ! My gut problems caused by the meds should heal in time and I've an appointment soon with gyny, to check things have settled. My experience of the Mirena has been awful to put it mildly. I partly blame myself for having faith in my consultant and believing all he said. Please consider carefully before having one fitted, if you do and it doesn't "settle" very quickly, get it roemoved asap. These last 18 months have been a nightmare that no woman should be expected to go through!

I have had the Mirena since 2014. The only problem I was having up until 2016 was a long period. My period last for 12 days literally. Now I've had BV four times since 2016. It's soooo frustrating to deal with because I can't afford to go back and forth to my GYN for the same matter over and over again. I'm all about vaginal health and now I'm always stressed out about my vaginal health and what is causing me to get BV so often. I don't have frequent sex partners nor do I douche. I take probiotics faithfully but it's not helping me at all. I only bath with Dove soap. After review a few reviews I think it's time my IUD comes out. I never had this issue with the Novaring prior to getting the IUD. Mirena needs to be removed from the market if it's causing so many women problems.
