This was written a long time ago but I'm 17 and I got the shot. I'm broken out everywhere and I've been bleeding for 7 month's. My insurance is out so I couldn't get a second shot. :-( I feel horrible
Hi there sorry to hear I am not the only one going though this I now have had my period for 5 months so tried and unwell ,the doctor keeps telling me just to ride it out .I am going away with my boyfriend and will have to take the pill to stop it .If anyone as any feedback please let me know.
Thank you
Thank you
I can relate! The side effects of this birthcontrol are to terrible to risk. I had the shot 3 times so for 9 months i was on the shot. I got my period a little after my birthday on february 24th. months later im still on my period and cant handle it anymore so i stopped the shot. Now 3 months after stopping the shot my period is still going strong. A month ago they put me on the pill to help regulate the period to hopefully stop it. And it did work a little bit my period lightened up and even stopped for 3 days. But after those 3 days my period only has gotten worse.
I am sick of these doctors because all they said was youll probably have an irregular period not you may be on your period for months at a time. I am going to see an obgyn AGAIN in 2 days. I pray they find out what is wrong and can fix it. This is not normal. I will never be on another birthcontrol ever.

I've been having the same problems, I'm so happy I'm not the only one. I'm only 15 and I've been on my periods for about 4 months now. At first my period would come for only like 2 days or 1 and stop and then back for 3 weeks all the time, but then my periods stopped for 1 year and 6 months, and then after that I had REALLY heavy periods but it would come then go after a day and then back again. Now I've been on for 4 months and it's getting heavier, I really don't know what to do I actually feel like I'm losing so much blood, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this problem
I've been in my period for 5 months too sometimes it's bright red others very dark almost brown/black looking...I also talked to nurse and she also told me to just wait and that it will eventually go away
I was on depo too.
I also need help idk what to do anymore

Hi did your period stop DNC?
I'm 16, it's march 14,2016 and I've been on my period since october2015. I seen the dr a month ago and they prescribed birthcontrol pill. Bleeding hasn't stopped. I feel depressed, and alone. I know how all of you feel
Hi I know this was posted over a year ago, and I really hope your problem has cleared up. If not, I would request a laparoscopic surgery from your gynecologist/on-gyn. at age 16 I skipped a period for 3 months and then had a full blown one with 6 months straight with painful cramping. I'm 18 now. No doctors could find out what it was until one suggested maybe endometriosis. It doesn't show up on ANY test. The ONLY way to know if you have it or not is by going in surgically and taking a look. The surgery is an outpatient surgery and the incisions are extremely small. I would talk to someone about it because it was the best decision I've ever made. I never thought I would've had it but it's actually very common and can cause things like this. I hope all goes well!
Has your doctor ever said anything about endometriosis? Sounds kinda like the symptoms!
My gyn told me to wait it out with 90 days bleeding so heavy my red blood count was 5.8.
I actually am going on my 5th month. Same problem as everyone else. I don't know what exactly is going on but does it affect your chances of getting pregnant even once the problem is fixed? That's what I'm afraid of.
Have any of you guys had any success? Ive been bleeding for 5 months now and i cant see a doctor because i dont make enough to get health insurance. My health is starting to slip now i think as the bleeding gets worse. Should i take iron pills? Save up for birth control? Am i screwed because im poor? I have had bleeding like you guys described, and it stoped for one month durring the past 6. I am only 23 and this is the first time this has happened to me (my periods before were a bit irregular but nothing alarming) but my sisters have also gone through this. Lucky for them theirs cleared up quicker and didnt come back so they cant help me at all. My boyfriend wont touch me when im bleeding (but still wants me to do things for him) so my relationship is suffering big time. Please, is there anyone who can help me? I dont want to spend 2017 bleeding to death

I have also gotta Depo Prevera , I'm also 17 and been on my Period for 5 months
I understand what ur doing threw. I had my baby in feb and got a depo after. Only reason I got the depo is because I was suppose to get my tubes tied but I lost to much blood during birth so they gave me depo so I had enough time to reschedule my surgery.
But same as u I had my period since feb and it is now the end of July. One Friday I thought my period stopped (3 weeks ago) but the next day it came back heavy I was so disappointed. It gotten so bad to where my uterus feels raw like something trying to claw my way out. No not cramps. Only way I could explain it is like I was having minimal contractions. Of could I'll have cramping once a month or twice a month. I been wanting to go to the hospital. But I keep telling my self I'll give it one more week... but I'm also tired and nauseous. But when the pain gets so bad I feel it to my bad and my sick is very sensitive like when u get a fever or a slight sun burn. If u got to the hospital please let me know if it's something to worry about also
