My husband and I decided that we were ready to get off the pill. Since June 1st we have been off the pill and the plan was to wait 3 months before trying to give my body time to adjust. We tried to use condoms and it didn't work and we are not using the pull out method. My doctor told me before that I should wait 3 months, is this really a must? Going back to using condoms is harder than we thought.
Its not a "must" actually a lot docs don't even recommend that anymore and some women are actually told to try the first month because it tends to be "easier"...the basis for this is so your cycles can "regulate" but your cycles could not possiably be any more regular than they are right now....its supposed to make it easier in determining the exact date of conception but a lot od providers say it make it MORE difficult...either way if you have a early enough ultrasound (around 6th week) it should be pretty easy to tell when you actually concieved.
I got pregnant the first month off of the pill, as did a lot of patients I have seen as did my friends...your "fertile" days should fall around the 14th or 15 day counting from the first day of your last period....of course we did it every day just to make sure (lol) have fun getting pregnant and good luck!!! PS it wouldn't hurt to start taking prenatel vitamins or at least vitamins with high folic acid at this time- I am sure you will be with child soon enough :-) Good luck :-) and precongrats!!
