Hi, I'm not sure if any of you will find this helpful, but I figured I would share anyways.

This past Wednesday when shaving, I noticed a couple of "lumps" in my neck. One below my chin a little off to the left, and another on my right side just below my jaw. I figured they were just swollen lymph nodes and would give it a couple of days to see what happened.

The next day (Thursday), I experienced some difficulty swallowing. I began to worry like crazy, looking up what it could be on the internet and literally driving myself insane. My ears also began to get a little bit sore.

I went to the doctor today (Friday), because I needed to know what was wrong with me, and my symptoms seemed to match a number of various diseases (not sure what to call them) varying from not serious at all, to extremely serious.

My doctor confirmed that the lumps were swollen lymph glands (nodes), and initially thought I had a throat infection. After a taking a swab of the back of my throat, he determined that I didn't have a throat infection, I had tonsillitis.

What a large weight lifted off of my mind, all I have to do is take antibiotics for awhile.

Once again, I hope this helps some of you out there, and if you have any doubt in your mind that you may be dealing with something serious, don't hesitate to go get it checked out.
UPDATE

This past Saturday, my 8th day on Amoxicillin for tonsillitis, I broke out into a terrible rash all over my body and I honestly felt as though I was dieing. All I could do was sleep, when I was awake I felt terrible and struggled to move. Went to my new doctor on Monday, she said it didn't look like allergies so she took another swab of my throat and some blood and set it for a mono test, liver function tests and some other stuff. Mono test came back positive.
