I had pain in my right wrist for some time and I felt weakness in my arm. I went to see a doctor and he did some exams. I have got my MRI result of my right wrist today and it is not good. Diagnose is Kienbock' Disease. I never heard of it. Is there anyone with Kienbock' Disease or at least to know something about this?
I am sorry to hear this. I don’t have this condition, but I know something about it. Kienbock' Disease is an isolated disorder of the lunate. It results from vascular compromise to the bone. The symptoms of disease include wrist pain, limited range and motion and decreased grip strength. Kienbock's Disease presents in various forms and changes in the lunate may be very localized or diffuse. With progression, the lunate may fracture into two pieces or crumble into granules or produce an osteochondral fracture from one surface, but the cartilage is not primarily involved in the pathogenesis and remains relatively healthy. However, bone death occurs over time.
I was diagnosed with kienbock's disease over a decade ago. I know how painful it is ! Found out because I thought I broke my wrist. They told my it is caused by an old injury. (no clue what it could have been) caused my bone to loose oxygen supply and die. (sad face) I ended up getting my wrist partially fused. They took a tendon from my arm and rolled it up like an anchovie and replacing the bone with the tendon. My advice would be do all the OT you can !!! Every ounce u can get helps !!!!
