I also am a runner and out of the blue my knees randomly get red and hot (appearance of sun burn)for no good reason. I ran yesterday and this evening the just got red and hot. I have had xrays and blood work no RA or lupus. This has been going on for the last yr. Any others have suggestions??
I've been told that I have tendonitis but rest doesn't seem to help it. You should probably stop running and try to rest your legs as much as possible. Mine seemed to get slightly better after about 3-4 months with walking almost nowhere but as soon as I started to walk just short distances again they are red so I've given up.
Hi all,
It is four years since I posted about my daughter. We finally got answers. She has Psoriatic Arthritis - it is an auto immune disease. The hot red knees etc was really just like a fore runner letting us know something odd was going on in her body. After a few months those syptoms no longer occured. Rheumatologists have prescribed all the traditional medications, we have not taken this course of treatment, but have found an alternative that includes the use of less severe medications and change of diet. We did estensive and exhaustive research and I found a lot of help through - The Roadback Foundation. I am not endorsing or suggesting anyone do as we have done, it is just that like when I first posted on this site - i needed help and looked at and considered all options. None us like to be ill or indeed to see our loved ones unwell. So friends hope you find answers to your health concerns soon. cheers
chris
im 30 years old both my knees hurt and swell and r red my hands also swell and hurt bad my joints hurt all over ,i am in constant pain.
Wondering if you have gotten any answers. I have same red hot knees after standing, not even doing anything taxing. Curious what you've found out.
I am 16 and this same thing happens to me, you should take her to the doctor. My knee also cracks and pops really loudly.
yes this happens to me and i have lupus
I am 26 years old and this is also happening to me doctor ran labs last week he said if it becomes positive or negative he will send me to rheumatologist because it's not knot all for my knees and legs to get red and hot. They did labs for arthritis and lupus
My doc figured it was tight T bands in my thigh causing my knee to swell periodically. They suggested physical therapy.
I am 68 woke up in the middle of the night throbbing in my knee. Swollen and red and hot to the touch what is this?
My knees and feet started this almost a year ago. When I come in late afternoons and early evenings I almost always go slip into a pair of shorts and a T shirt. I often find my knees and feet both to be very red, swollen, and warm to the touch. I was diagnosed with Lupus 3-4 years ago. One of my severe problems occurring along with my Lupus was severe and constant mouth ulcers. I mean I kept them in my mouth all the time, they kept getting bigger, lasting longer, and even leaving scars in my mouth. I don't think I went one four over four years without having numerous ulcers in my mouth. I took 6 prednisone a day during that entire time. Finally a Dermitologist gave me am injection. I got a second injection 30 days later and now take one every six months. The ulcers went away almost immediately and I have never had another, with the exception of not getting my Ned's in time due to insurance dispute, but once I got my injection they have not returned. But it seems like every since I no longer have ulcers I experience the red, swollen feet and knees. Damn Lupus
Problem with that is I have the same thing and it shows modeling usually when it's not red was blotchy patches of weird spots it goes to my hands and my feet burn on my knees burn and slowly my feet burn it burns red hot like it's a severe pain just can't seem to make it go away yeah tight calf muscles yeah that's a good direction to go cuz charlie horses constantly and then there's the rare things that deal with kidney and liver .. I thought doctors wanted to help people we're all doctors at nowadays for real let me know when y'all figure this out I would love to stop getting sick
I have some puffiness just below both knees and my calves are swelling up. I'm 50 lbs overweight. Could this be the reason?
My knees swell up every couple of weeks, and it lasts for about a week. It is very painful. What is causing this?
Hi, I have purple feet, and I think it's because of bad blood flow.
When it's hot my feet turn red. I want to know how can I fight this problem?
PS: it's quite embarrassing.
