so i dont know if im on the right board but here i go, i have a large (relatively) lump on my left labia, against the pubic bone area.. its been there since i was about 15 im 20 now and now in the past 2 months its doubled in size and is painful? i dont think its a std because well i was 15 when i got it.. and wasnt sexually active until a few years later. is it a cyst? can they last that long? its not red or anything and its solid. im not sure if its movable or if im just moving the skin above it..
any ideas out there???

i found this board whilst searching the net for something like what i am experiencing, i didn't think i would find anything so i am relieved to see it's not just me!

at the moment i have a small bump on the right side of my labia minora, i discovered it last night as it was very sore down there. it felt like a hard lump, almost like a stone, in my labia. i panicked a little, i'm sorry to say. anyway, i squeezed it pretty hard and it burst, but this morning when i woke up it was back again only not so big. i haven't squeezed it again since i pretty much figured that was a bad idea.

it would make sense for this to be related to stress, as some of you are suggesting. i am 21 and still a total virgin so no risk of it being sexually transmitted.

i know that it would be a good idea to see a doctor around about now anyway, but i am horribly afraid. i am overweight (225lbs) and it scares me to death to think of anyone seeing my lower half...not to mention that i am not sexually active and i really don't want my first time being touched down there to be a doctor...

god, this is so embarrassing! haha :/

ah yes, sorry to spam but i just read through all the posts here and i see that at least a few of you have PCOS. i was diagnosed with PCOS about a year and a half ago, so it is possible that this is a little-known symptom!

I've gotten them on and off over the years. The first time I got one, my doctor felt that it was a lack of air circulation and advised me to wear all cotton panties. That pretty much alleviated the problem. I've gotten them again on and off over the years but I could always attribute it to wearing too many clothes (or a wet bathing suit for an extended period of time). They always clear up on their own for me. I just keep the area as clean and dry as possible (go without underwear around the house if possible). Also, direct sunlight to the affected area helps.

i don't know if i'm experiencing the same thing... i have barely been able to walk since yesterday. i have a BIG sore on my right labia minora... i was afraid it could be herpes but i have not been sexually active in almost a year. i put hydrocortisone cream and petroleum jelly on it and nothing. i iced it but the relief was momentary...

what can it be? what can i do?

thank you very much

Really calming to read all your posts! I am 61 and many years post-menopausal. Have had one "blister" for 3+ yrs that female PA said was likely blocked duct. It has never bled or been sensitive, but then I quickly became compulsive just as a lot of us were in our pimple days and punctured and drained w/needle. It is an amazing thing as it refills in hour or so! Can certainly see how large and how sensitive it has become for some of you. I actually have a trail of scar tissue now! Am going to try some of ideas you've suggested as my experience is that it does not go away!

I was searching around to find an answer for a growth on my twelve year old daughters labia. She has had two, about three weeks apart from eachother. In the same spot. She has not been to a gynocologist yet because she hasn't gotton her period, but is fully developed. It almost looks like a boil, and yes it leaks puss. It is also painful, and she is exetremly embarrased. I will take her to a doctor and post back about what they find.

I too just got two bumps in this area. I am three weeks post emer cesarean. I am having to wear pads for the first time ever - for post preg bleeding and think the bumps might have been caused by the friction. I normally wear tampons when I have my period so I've never experienced this type of friction down there. I also agree that it could be caused in part to the lack of air getting down there since I've been wearing pads for three weeks straight! My problem started off as bumps and I'm assuming they swelled up because I was messing with them trying to see exactly what was going on. I don't recommend popping them or messing with them in general - it's made mine more painful.

Has anyone else experienced these post pregnancy?

Thanks for sharing, ladies. I was using my rabbit the other day with my boyfriend- pretty intensely. I noticed that I started getting a little dry with it, so we used more lube. I didn't notice anything until the end of the next day- it hurts when I urinate and I have three very small bumps on my labia minor that are the color of my skin. They're right where the rabbit ears hit. They're about the size of a very small glass bead. I've never gotten them before and I was panicking, but I think I'll still go to see my OBGYN asap. At least I'm comforted by the fact that I'm not the only one and it's not necessarily an STD. Thanks again

I get these sometimes too. In fact I have something that feels like an oncoming one right now. Yesterday it was a bit sore and felt like a pimple under the skin, and now it seems to be begining to surface. Right at the crease between my outer and inner labia on one side.

I've also seen an OBGYN about one before and was told it was nothing to worry about... I don't remember the exact technical term she used but fundamentally just an irritated gland of some sort. I've gotten them since before I was sexually active, and I have been tested for genital warts but don't have them. Those supposedly look more like cauliflower then these ones do.

I get these things once or sometimes twice a year... they seem to take forever to go away and trying to pop them is just painfull and fruitless. I'm glad I'm not alone.

In June I had a labial cyst and I went a few days without saying anything, finally by the time it was the size of a quarter, my mom rushed me to the ER. They drained it without giving me ANY pain killers and it was the most excruciating pain i have ever encountered. They finally gave me liquid pain killers after the fact. This past saturday night I found another one, and I had it drained today at my OB/GYN. It was no where near as big as the other one and he made a hole with an 18g needle. It hurt like a fudder mucker, but it was no where near as bad as the last time. My advice, once you feel it get help asap. Do not wait. It was horrible to wait. I was embarrassed to tell my mom the first time, but I had no problem this time. Don't be scared to say anything. My doc said if it comes back again then they are going to do surgery to remove the cyst.

Have any of you gotten them on the clitoris? I have three small bumps, like you all explained, on or around my clitoris. I used to get cysts on my labia all the time, but that was when we used spermicide on the condoms. I have since stopped using spermicide. I haven't had cysts for years, until now. I am not overweight, but I just lost about 90 pounds. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I thought I would throw that out there.
