I heard many people and experts use terms like Lactate and Anaerobic Treshold. I am not sure about the meaning and if there is any difference between them. I used the term anaerobic treshold but my coach corrected me and told me to use lactate treshold term. What term should I use?
These terms are being used for the situation when your body cannot clear the lactate buildup. Most people are familiar with the point around 4 mmol but not many are familiar with the first point at 2 mmol. Many people are using lactate threshold and anaerobic threshold interchangeably. Some people use term “onset of blood lactate accumulation” for the 2 mmol point because it indicates the point of intensity where lactate accumulates above its resting value.
