I have looked this up online and other sites have told me that it could be an earily miscarrage, or linning of my uterus tissue comming out in the clotts, it could be a sign of eairly menopause - but that's not the case I'm 30 this may. I also read that it could be fibroids, but the symptoms of that is heavy bleeding and pain in the overie area... and I have no pain or heavy bleeding... so I have no idea what is going on with me.
My last period last month was strangly similar to the one I'm having now, but not as clotting. There was some clots but not as big.
I have decided to set up an appointment with a gyno for after my next period to see if it's just as weired, I'm hoping I have a normal period and I won't have to go to the DR but If I have more clotting and my period stops and starts again I'll have to see someone for it.
I haven't had children yet and hope I can have a baby someday, I'm worried because with weired stuff like this, makes me scared I can't have kids.
Has anyone else had problems like this? Did you go to the Doctor for it and what did they say?

I am sorry to hear that all of you are having the issue of passing large clots, but at the same time, I am somewhat relieved that it is more common that I originally thought. I have been passing clots for the past year and a half. I don't have large clots every period, but when I do, it is really bad. Most of the clots are about the size of large olives; however a few have been as large as the palm of my hand. I was really freaked out when I passed one that large! I don't have any pain or cramping while on my period or during intercourse. I just all of a sudden feel a gush and then a little pressure (which is the clot passing). When I check my pad, there is usually a large clot and a lot of blood soaking my pad. Sometimes, I soak a super absorbent tampon, and an overnight heavy duty maxi pad within a few minutes. Eventually, all of this clotting led me to telling my OB GYN. He said to just keep an eye on it and let him know if it continued. So at my annual exam this year, I told the nurse practititoner that did my pelvic exam. When she did the internal gloved exam and felt my uterus, she said that I might have a possible fibroid, so she ordered a vaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound itself was not painful at all, and went very quickly. Afterwards, I met with the nurse practitioner again and she said that I had a "large" uterus. I had no idea what that meant. She said that no fibroids showed up on the ultrasound, but the lining of my uterus was rather thick considering I had just been on my period. She recommended that I see my actual OBGYN and have a procedure that would involve putting a straw catheter into my uterus and sampling the tissue. This does not sound like fun at all, and I really don't want to have this procedure, espcially since I don't have any pain with the clots and my cycles are regular and normal in length. She also mentioned that my doctor might want to go into the uterus and scrape the lining, or he might want to do a hysterectomy!! She also asked if I had ever noticed a correlation between my clotting and the stress level I was experiencing. Which after hearing that, I have been under a lot of stress the past couple of years. Another thing is that my blood test did show that my iron levels are low and that I am anemic. Also with all 3 of my pregnancies, I developed hyperthyroidism. I have noticed various thyroid conditions mentioned in several posts. So...I am just sort of hanging our at this point thinking that I am going to call my doctor and just have a talk with him before committing to the next catheter test.

I just turned 45 a few weeks ago and had a gnarly period this time. I think it was cause of the pill I am on - I would rather not be on it and just remembered. Duhhhh! How about I get my tubes tied? BINGO! No more pill. Anyway.....
I grew up in a very holistic household and decided to check down that path for help. This is what I have found. Google all of this stuff I am about to tell you cause it is a LOT. On any of these subjects, put up in your browser - "Topic" for menstruation. READ, READ, READ about this, educate yourself. Because you are on here, means you are looking for answers.
I am not a Dr. but I am a woman.
EDTA - take in powder form - 1 cup to 1 gallon of distilled water. Take a few oz on an EMPTY stomach and wait 20 mins. If you eat it will not work. I like to keep it in a little jar bedside, drink it, then snooze for another 20, then go on with my day. It cleans out your arteries of plaque, regulates your digestive system, sense of taste and smell, and most importantly CLEANS OUT TOXIC METALS, which can cause havoc and block your body from absorbing trace minerals/nutrients like iron. It also really smooths out the cramps, as well as tempering your mood. Toxic metals make you mad.
Magnesium - good for cramps, helps with calcium absorption - Get the good kind!!! CALM is the brand - find it a health food stores/vitamin shops .
Apple Cider Vinegar - Again - GET THE GOOD KIND!!! You want Bragg's brand - It is raw, unfiltered and has the "mother's" in it which is a strand of proteins that are essential. (which was not killed off by processing) A TBLS in a full glass of water a few times a day will help. Make sure drink a little straight water after to rinse off the acid. ACV has one of the highest amounts of potassium available, and it is cheap and easy to obtain.
Sage tea - use real leaves if you can find them - mix with a little honey, drink a 1-3 cups a day. Steep for 10 mins
Shepards Purse - and be found in bulk for tea, I just found a tincture (eye dropper) Make a tea, drink 1-3 times for day.
This is the most powerful herb to help reduce bleeding.
Warm Epson salt baths are soothing as well, Google that too. There is a lot of magnesium in the salts. Do not take a bath to hot, make sure to stay hydrated.
DRINK GOOD CLEAN WATER!!! Stay away from the tap stuff. There are more expensive systems out there, but for now, go get you a Britta - will cost you $15.00
Rub pressure points. Rub around the back of your heels and directly in the middle of the heel pad for cramp relief. If you are having pain, those places will be sore. Your body mirrors pain in your feet, hands and ears.
Also, I have found that the night time pads are good for hanging out in. Do not bother with tampons, it is just a waste of time/money/tampons. Listen to your body and feel when you need to get to the bathroom. Your VaJayJay will not be so raw if you are bleeding heavily.
The best advice I can offer is to Stay calm, do some deep breathing exercises, yoga, sleep, sleep, sleep. Whatever you need to do to keep you from stressing. Stress is a mind killer. Do your best to stay happy and positive. Laugh, watch funny movies, talk to a friend about something positive and lite.
I hope this info helps you and brings you relief. Hugs girlfriends! :D Get well.
