Hi :) I had unprotected sex on the 6th of July, which was the 10th day into my cycle. About 6 hours later I took Postinor 2.
I have no memory of any side effects but on the 16th I began spotting. It was a fairly medium flow which was dark brown for most of the time it lasted, though the amount of blood reduced gradually. The bleeding lasted for another 9 days and ended the day before my period was to begin( I have a regular 28-30 day cycle) I did miss my period and naturally, I started freaking out. I took a home pregnancy test on the 30th of July, five days after I missed my period and another one on the 3rd of August (this past Thursday) and they both turned out negative.. Well, I am now 2 weeks late and despite the negative tests I am still feeling unsettled. 5 weeks ago I had a complete change in my work environment whereby I now work in construction and stay outdoors 8 hours a day and I have had a few episodes of stress as well.
To my questions
1. Does the withdrawal bleed indicate that the pills have worked?
2. Do I need to worry that my periods are late despite having taken P2 and had 2 negative tests?
3. Could the other factors might have contributed to a late period?
And lastly,
4. Can the spotting cause me to miss an entire period?
I would appreciate any responses
I need to ease my mind
