I am experiencing a dull left sided pain to the left below rib cage. It hurts more when I cough, sneeze or hiccup. What could this be associated with?

This sounds like it could be related either to the heart or to a rib. In my experience, it's more likely a rib out. I suggest you go see the chiropractor and get it put back in.
