I too suffer from this disorder. Everything sounds exactly the same, except for the fact everything goes dark. I am still very aware of my surroundings. This just happened suddenly a week ago. Went through the whole gamut of tests including, CT scan, MRI scan (head) MIBI test (heart) X-rays and echo cardiograms. Nothing shows up. I know I am not dehydrated as I drink a minimum 10 10oz glasses of water daily. Going to doctor today to check inner ear and possible eyes. I will keep you all posted and will definitely check out youtube for inner ear exercises.

Hi I suffer the same problem. I try to cut off processed meal. Eat lots of vegetables, salad and drink plenty of water. Eat less meat. At least once a week. I drink cod liver oil. It does not go away but it occurs less frequently.

Don't be surprised if you have a non specific inner ear disorder which means they can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but it could be scar tissue or little stones or something of that nature. Sometimes these conditions are just below the radar and don't quite show up on tests. Have you had your thyroid checked or adrenal gland function? You could be suffering from adrenal insufficiency or fatigue and not know it. There are different forms on line you can fill out which give you an assessment list to answer and may give you some indications. You also may want to see a doctor who also is a D.O because they treat the whole body or a doctor who is also a naturopath because they can give certain tests which go beyond standard medical testing. Sometimes problems are so microscopic that they don't show up on regular panels. Thyroid guidelines have changed and are not as broad in their testing scope as doctors are using right now.

Thank you, yes I have had my thyroid check came back negative, but it's funny I started juicing using the Nutri bullet and I feel a whole lot better the dizziness and everything has stopped I started using this bullet on March 24, 2013 and as of 3 days later it seemed to disappear after juicing, strawberries, greens, flack seed, oranges, blue berries, spinach, almonds, apples and bananas, I guess what my system was lacking was in the juices. Thank you

I actually experienced the same thing, but I soon realized that it was in connection to my consistency with my antidepressants. Despite what the common misconception is about antidepressants, they are addicting and your body does become dependent on them. Some medications have opiates in them and therefore cause withdrawals with them. When I would have a withdrawal episode, I would get a migraine, experience dizziness, lightheadedness, and nausea. My brain would literally hurt and it was crippling. Once I came completely off meds, I have never experienced any of this again. If you are on meds and planning on going off them, taper off VERY SLOWLY and maybe 5 mg at a time. It minimizes the withdrawals and they will only last about a day after your initial 5 mg drop. It's helpful. Wish you all the best! Just remember, you have the power to regain control of your emotions. :) Good luck! :D

So very happy you came of the psych medications. They are addicting in many ways and people don't realize it. It's good that you figured it out as well. Most people on psychiatric medications would be better off seeing a nutritionist and getting their bodies healthy as something is lacking and NOT in your brain! Well done to you for having the idea and the courage to get off the drugs. Drugs are just that.....drugs! They are not a solution, just a cover.

Hi I had this problem 2 years ago and was laid up in bed for nearly 3 weeks, watching TV is a no no as it makes it worse, what you could try is sitting on the bed with both feet on the floor, then let yourself fall to the left (landing on the matress on the left side of your head) then do the same to the right,do this a few times ,it really works.(try doing it with someone with you just incase you fall off the bed)

I have been following this post since it all began and I would like to let you know what I was diagnosed with.  It goes back to 2010 when all out of the blue I had a very bad dizzy spell.  I did pass it off as a one off but it started happening quite regularly, after going to the doctor and having all the test under the sun done ( bloods, MRI, CT, 24 Hour urine tests and so on...)  I even had my eyes tested and had a balance test which can be uncomfortable.  As per normal ALL the tests came back normal, I ended up getting very depressed so I went on medication for that.  My symptoms became that bad that I was lightheaded all the time 24/7, I had to leave my job and couldn't even step into a shopping centre or my head would feel unbalanced.  The doctor said there was nothing they could do for me as they looded at all areas, I suggested seeing a Neurologist who after 2 minutes diagnosed me with CHRONIC MIGRAINOUS VERTIGO.  It is on the net as he gave me a print out with the info on it, it is worth a read as my condition got better over time.  That was about 1 year ago and I can say from where I was I feel 95% improvement.  I do take medication daily for it but it has given me back my life.  It took me over 1 year of searching for an answer and for some slight possibility someone reads this and finds out they get diagnosed with it, it is worth it, good luck and I hope you all find results you are looking for.

THis sounds like the most reasonable explanation to me so far. I have been suffering spells on occasion as well. I study nutrition and have known allergies. Even for those people who haven't been diagnosed with allergies, who knows what is in the food that you are eating anyway? It could easily be making you sick.

Hello all readers. I'm only 11 and I have been felling really the same as all of you. I'm not anxious or anything and I eat an ok diet. I stay hydrated and allow that, but still feel this way. Its been like this for a week or less, but I'm starting to panic. Can anyone figure out what's wrong Edith me? Is it like a phase? Please help.:-(

Do your parents know about this? You need to tell them and go see a doctor. It is probably just a simple thing, but you should see a doctor. Are you taking any kind of medication? Do you have any ear pain? Well, I hope you talk to your parents about this. Good luck. You're too young to worry.

I have been the same as everybody else for about a yr now. I went on Groupon and bought 3 sessions for Acupuncture  I went for my first on Sat and I told her what has been going on. She did a cleansing on me and I felt pretty good after. Not perfect but at least a little different. It only cost 50.00 so I figured what the heck. I just wanted to throw out the idea to people for something they could try that does not cost much.

I have had the exact symptoms as you they thought of vertigo. Anxiety attacks they put me on Xanax. That didn't make a difference. Went back again did MRI,s and EEG,s nothing came back. Finally had a neurologist sit down and talk to me and go over my history. He said I have complex migraines . Even though I don't have migraines or any head pain if u Google the symptoms it adds.up

Ok, I seem to be in the same boat here.  Although I want to jump out and swim to be honest.

I have been having these lightheaded headaches as well (which are getting progressively worse), where it seem like I am going to faint but I never do.  Prickly feeling in my skin and overall nerve sensitivity.  One night I woke up and the left side of my head was cold as well as my chest so I started to panic and went to the Emergency room because it was 3am.  They did a cat scan and the doctor said I was having a panic attack.  Which I was because the symptoms set it off, not the other way around!!!  BTW that trip cost me $1600 and I have f-ing insurance :-).  I admit I get overly stressed about health issues which can result in a panic attack, but OMG all these symptoms combined are pretty scary to say the least.

Ive been to a number of doctors, ENT, Int. Medicine, and now a neurologist.  He ordered an MRI and I am waiting to get it (3 weeks I might add).  So far all my tests have been negative.  So, in the mean time my regular doctor thinks it might be due to anxiety and stress.  He gave me a prescription for Lexipro and Xanax.  Lexipro is an anti-depressant which I'm not comfortable taking at the moment.  If your panicking Xanax does help, but I started reading about how addictive it is and holy sh*t it sounds sketchy.  Hey, maybe I can get addicted to some meds and add it to the list of issues.

I am in great shape I eat super healthy and started going to therapy because I'm trying to work through a few issues.  I can not honestly think of anything else I can do to be more pro-active.

The thing is I am getting less and less productive because so many things are piling up on me.  Highly frustrating and at this point I am just trying to have a good attitude which is getting challenging.

Good luck everyone and feel free to respond to my post...
