I am the mother of a 12 year old female, who has had upper abdominal pain just under her breast, above her rib cage. My child has complained of stomach problems since about 3rd grade, finally in 4 the grade I took her to a Pediatric GI who had diagnosed her with being Lactose Intolerant. I thought we had found the solution; however through the years she has still complained of her stomach hurting in the same spot. This year right after Christmas, she had a horrible stomach bug, and has not been the same. Approximately one month ago, the pain became unbearable for her, and then her eating changed. My child is an over weight child, who can now barely eat one meal a day, which consist of mostly soup because she experiences abdominal pain when eating. I have seen a complete loss of appetite, and liquid intake she has lost 8 lbs, and is not gaining weight, but is in sever pain. I have had an endoscopy/colonoscopy done, ultrasounds complete, bloodwork, but all come back negative. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS IN MY CHILD’S HEAD, I believe that she is in sever discomfort. I have tried everything, except having a cat scan, I am just really unsure of what to do, what doctor to see, or how to help relieve my child’s discomfort. If there is anyone out there who has anything to contribute, any guidance to offer please advice me… Thank you, Panicked Parent L

Oh thank god. I've been feeling just like this, and it's getting to the point of not wanting to move. I've always had problems with minor headaches, but I never really noticed. I just got headaches alot. But for the past 3 weeks, maybe a month, I've been getting these horrendous migrains that make me feel sick. Even when they finally go away, or before they start, I've got this pain in my abdomen, just under my rib cage, just barely above my stomach, that constantly aches, no matter what I do. Eating hurts worse, and intensifies the abdominal pain, so I don't really feel like eating, and I am constantly tired, like all the time. I haven't been to a doctor yet because I'm 18, and I just got taken off my moms insurance and I don't have my own yet. If anyone figures it out, please, let us all know. This sucks.

I'm noticing a trend here. A lot of us are afflicted are teenage and female.
I became ill with similar symptoms quite abruptly. One night I didn't feel good, and thought maybe I was catching the stomach flu from my older brother. So I stayed home, but didn't have the flu. At the time, I was also just getting over the common cold. I noticed a pounding headache, of the sinus variety (sinus headaches hurt in the bones of your face, around the sinus cavities; around your eye, bridge of your nose, etc.,). I went to school the next day, feeling better, and was struck just after I ate lunch by the same feeling I'd felt two nights ago.
Long story short, I took the rest of the week off from school, ended up in the ER on Friday for suspected appendicitis, and was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst. I took birth control to shrink the cyst, but I can't honestly say that it really helped. I've been to the doctor several times, and have been diagnosed with allergies and post nasal drip. I now take medicine to prevent this, though even when I'm on it I feel a build up in my throat, along with a foul taste. I also have KILLER ear aches and head aches. I've noticed bloody ear wax and bloody snot.
I've had a barium swallow, an endoscopy, etc. All came back good. I don't have signs of reflux, though my gastro suggested I try a course of heartburn medication. I feel a little better when I take it, but I still have pain in my abdomen around the bottom of my ribcage, up my back and around my shoulders. I also have chest pains, and rather severe shoulder/back pain when attempting to exercise. I've also noticed foul breath, bad enough that I can taste it. I chew an exorbitant amount of gum due to this.
I'm seventeen, it's my senior year in highschool, and I've been sick since February. Being ill has torn a rift of sorts between my family and I. I can honestly say that I am a different person now, prone to foul moods and lethargic tendencies. I don't want to go places with people and friends for fear of how I'm going to feel, and have gone from having an insatiable appetite to picking here and there.
P.S. Just out of curiosity, has anyone else experienced any ear, neck, or eye pain? Congested-ness? Noticed a sluggishness of mind? I feel as if I am prone to forgetting things. Names of character from books (I'm a fanatic reader, and retain EVERYTHING I read), formulas in math, etc.

I'm 18, I graduated high school 2 years early, and I have never once failed a class or gotten lower than an A on an English paper. Yet, since these thing have been happening I've started doing terribly in my classes. I can't focus, I got a C on my essay, failed a math test, and it's getting worse. It's like my brain is in a fog.
I've been heavily congested, but no cold/flu medicine or benydryll has worked, and most of my migraines start in my eye.
Lately though, they shoot through my eye and down through my ear into my jaw and neck. All in on trail, I'm not sure if that's what you mean, but that's what's going on with me.

Also, I went to the ER last week because it got to the point of uncontrollable sobbing. They took my blood and couldn't find anything, sent me home with 3200 mg of ibuprofen a day. (After making me consistently more nauseous, causing strange chest pains, and not at all helping with anything, I stopped taking it.)
I'm so sorry to hear that you're having the same issues, because they SUCK. The sluggishness of mind is absolutely debilitating. I've gone from breezing through work in classes to being forgetful, and just downright dumb. It's to the point where I've noticed that using flashcards, a method of studying I can use to learn a list of maybe thirty vocab words in ten minutes, now takes almost forty five minutes, and even then I can't seem to recall the definitions too quickly. I have to concentrate absurdly hard, when before definitions came to me almost instantly. It's been making me feel awfully dumb, and I've lost a little confidence in my intellectual abilities because of this. I didn't realize how much I valued feeling smart until I started feeling plain dumb.
I've been having the same trouble, the pain in the eyes, jaw and ears. I've noticed it significantly in my left eye specifically however, and some neck pain too that seems relatable. I thought for a time the neck pain was swollen glands, but I've been to the doctor several times and he's never said they were swollen. The sinus issues kind of make me think of a sinus infection. I've never had a history of allergies, but this is one of the things my doctor insisted was wrong with me. So I started taking allergy medication, and it doesn't do much of anything for my symptoms. I've heard of sinus issues fogging your brain, which kind of has me more inclined to believing the overall problem could be something sinus related. Can't say why sinus infection would cause abdominal pain though.
Unfortunately, I was never really treated for a sinus infection, just allergies, and unsuccessfully at that. I do, however, take Omerprazole for reflux. It's not confirmed that I have reflux, but I went to a gastro doctor because of this sensation I have in my throat. For the longest time, this was the main reason I never felt well. I have this odd sensation that I'm going to barf when I haven't once since February. I've kind of attributed it as my own form of nausea, even though I've always believed nausea to be more of a stomach issue.
When I'm on Omerprazole, I feel a little better. It's hard to say whether this is an actual effect of the medicine or just the result of a placebo effect. Either way, I've also read GERD or reflux can cause sinus problems and brain fog as well, but I'm not entirely convinced the issue is this since the Omerprazole hasn't really made me feel a 100% better. I feel like the Omerprazole only helps minimally.
Also, have you noticed a sensation of mucus buildup in your throat to be specific? Or had any history of chronic UTIs, bladder, kidney, or ovarian cysts? I had several UTIs one after another a few months before I got sick, and was diagnosed with hematuria (trace amounts of blood in the urine). I went to a urologist, who said the issue was IC, a bladder condition that cause lower abdominal pain.
Before this, I had also gone to the ER like you for abdominal pain, and they found an ovarian cyst.
I've never been able to figure out if maybe some of my abdominal pain could be attributed to one of those conditions, but I feel that the pain makes my nausea more pronounced.
