I honestly dont think these spasms are anything to worry about - I have had them for so long. I am in the medical field, and I cant think of anything they could be related to. I certianly dont have IBS as someone suggested above.
What I do find useful is that if they bother me, (i.e become distracting) a couple of doses of soluble calcuim (usually found as a fizzy powder or tablet, somtimes as a combination with Vitamin C) puts an end to them. Tablet Calcium, together with a multivite might help as well.

I read on another board that someone went to their chiropractor who diagnosed it as a nerve that was being pressured when they sat. The chiropractor was able to fix it with some adjustments. This sort of makes sense to me because I only get the spasm when I'm sitting, never when I'm standing (although I'm probaby sitting 90% of my life!).
I have no other symptoms of IBS so I don't tend to think it's that.

It's more likely the same kind of twitch you get in your eyelid if you are stressed or have a mineral deficiency, my husband gets the same flutter in his arm sometimes and my mother in her toes. I guess we all just get scared when it's in the abdomen.
Try eating a banana, apricots or something with potassium/magnesium etc. Or start taking a multivitamin. I know my flutter started up when I lost my bottle of vitamins between work and home, haven't gotten a new bottle yet.

That's all I have. I'm really curious what it is.

A bit worried here...

I have just started these lower abdomen vibrations with no pain, they are about 6" below my belly button just above my pubic region. I can feel them every few minutes sometimes more then once a minute, and they do feel like a mobile vibrating in your pocket (caught me out a few times)! I have been diagnosed with IBS years ago (over 20) and had the colonoscopy, but I managed the IBS and pain with watching what I eat.
I have still got Anti Spazmodics that my doctor gave me for my IBS and I think I will try them out to see if they calm it down.
I will repost the results in several days time, watch this space.
