i am 24 years old and since i was around 14 i have noticed that occasionally when i eat i get a lump on the left side of my throat and then it goes away.it makes it hard to eat at times,i have went to the doctors and they said it can be a crystalized gland but basically they have no clue, they said if i can live with it then to do just that, but it is bothersome and i would like to know what it is?allergies?thyroid?does anyone have any ideas?
I would see a head, neck and ears specialist if you haven't. In the meantime I would try doing neck stretches everyday. That will help your muscles stay long and it will strengthen them. When the muscles are tight and weak they can become knotted, and could be why it gets difficult to chew and you get a lump. Then when the muscle heals a bit, the knot goes away. The condition is chronic because the muscle isn't healing completely, and that requires a few lifestyle changes to promote healing.
If it is a muscle issue, it will take a while before you notice any real benefit. The muscles are slow like that. But if it works, then you can narrow down your possible conditions to muscular ones. That'll go a long way in figuring this puppy out!
Best of luck
