At 58, after about 10 years of daily methadone use, I quit in mid-Jan. Todays March 18th, two+ months since my last dose. In all those years, I somehow managed to keep my dose quite low, peaking Xmas 09" at just 25mg.
Withdrawal was awful, of course, and after about two weeks, and because these powerful opiates are always around due to my spouses illness, I used morphine to relieve the misery. It's been almost month since I touched any opiate.
I've been taking a barrage of nutrients, oils, etc. per DrDaves advice, eating better quality food and forcing myself to walk an as-brisk-as-possible-under-the-circumstances 20-30 minutes before noon. My legs seem especially weak and some bones ache sometimes.
Does anyone whose kicked long term methadone use/abuse cold turkey know if it's normal for me to still fell quite weak (like c**p, really) and majorly confused after 60 days of no methadone, and thirty of zero opiates? I have had maybe 2 decent days since January, the rest, I'm thoroughly spent(exhausted) by afternoon. Did any of you curse the sunrise most mornings (after not enough sleep) at this point in your detox/recovery?
I just need to know if this is "the norm" under the circumstances. I'm finally drug free and just feel terrible still.
