My husband underwent radiation in 2006 for a soft palate cancer. Now, he cannot enjoy his food due to impaired salivary function. He is getting increasingly depressed about it. He can't eat sandwiches (too dry) steaks (dry) spicy foods or wine (these burn his throat)
What can I do to help him enjoy food again?
Also, whatever he eats goes to the back of his throat and up his nose which makes him cough after every bite. This is due to a gap caused by the cancer and the radiation.
