My doctor doubts that I have certain problems with adrenal glands. I should do metopirone test next week. I am interested in that drug called metopirone. How does it affect to adrenal glands? How this test is done?
Metapyrone is used in diagnosis of dysfunction of adrenal glands. Results of this test provide if your adrenal glands produce correct amount of hormone cortisol. Methapyrone is taken orally, the day before testing. Next day, urine or blood specimens are taken. This drug may cause nausea and vomiting. The amount of cortisol is measured in blood or urine specimen.
