The surgeon I saw was Peter Siska. He's at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) in Pittsburgh PA. He is absolutely wonderful. He put the hardware in my foot and then removed it 3 years later. He's an excellent surgeon and he is kind, compassionate and really funny. I hope you can see him and that you get some relief!
Hi dancer! I am in a very similar situation as you, except my sports of choice are weightlifting and obstacle course racing (extremely high impact). My injury is 5.5 years old and I've got arthritis in the joints at this point. Surgeon offered conservative treatment with orthotics or the fusion. What did you wind up doing? I'm SO torn and scared.
So sorry to hear this. You are not alone.
