I have had this for almost 8 years and its absolutely mold related and antibiotics will make it worse, stop with the antibiotics! Eventually it will lead to something called eoe esophagitis which will cause white blood cells and inflammation to harden the esophageal walls causing swallowing problems and associated "food sensitivities". Initially it will manifest as this one annoying symptom but as continued exposure occurs and the body is overwhelmed with mycotoxins other issues will pop up over time which will appear seemingly unrelated however they are not. Antibiotics make certain individuals more susceptible to mold and environmental toxins.
LPR is a BS diagnosis, like Fibromyalgia, CFS, Interstiial Cystitis, etc. its not that these conditions aren't real its just that docs are clueless as to the root cause and thus diagnose out of exclusion. If you have a sensation of a lump in your throat that is something else and not related to this, mucus in the throat is very specific and 95% of the time is related to either environmental or food causes (leaky gut) but these often go hand in hand with low level fungal infections caused by both environmental and ingested mycotoxins which antibiotics exasperate.

Best way to tell if its mold related is to remove yourself from your typical environment, keep a journal of your symptoms and stay somewhere else for a week or two and see if your symptoms improve, worsen or even change - this is a clear indicator that the cause is environmental. Look into the shoemaker protocol, aromatherapy, cholestryamine, activated charcoal, proper detox, herbal/pharma anti-fungals, vip treatment, Marcons, etc.

Well for me it started with a multi vitamin I took that felt stuck in my throat for hours after that they said it was esophagitis then I kept feeling food stuck in my throat and they did an endoscopy. I was told i have acid reflux and gastritis since then I've been on omeprazole twice a day 40mg now going on 4 months with the same feeling in my throat at times with a horrible sharp pain as well. Went to an ENT and allergist and still they say it's acid reflux. I've had so many test done and thank God they are all normal so my GI says the omerazole is working and that it's now probably anxiety that I have. I mean come on that horrible pain and sensation in my throat is caused by acid reflux then obviously the PPI isn't working! I don't know all this is so frustrating and painful, anybody else have this pain? Also, I was told 4 months ago to stay off of solid foods for a while and now I am struggling to eat them again :( Help!!!

I believe that the statin , Lipitor has caused me to almost choke to death on my own saliva ..not once but twice ! It happened the first time I started taking , Lipitor . After one week of taking Lipitor , I was producing way too much mucous and saliva in my throat . One night I was awoken from my sleep , because I was actually choking on my own saliva . I jumped out of bed and realized my ability to get air into my lungs was nearly impossible . I started banging on the wall in bedroom to wake my daughter in the adjoining room ( I realized each time I tried to speak ..nothing was coming out except a horrible hissing , wheezing sound . I could see the look of panic on my daughter's face and at the same time I just kept trying to speak ( I remember reading an article that stated as long as you could talk ..you can't choke to death ) . My daughter sat me down , trying to calm me down and urging me to speak ..finally ( after what seemed like an eternity ) , I was able to get some solid breaths of air into my lungs . Needless to say ..it was a frightening experience . I stopped taking Lipitor for a few weeks ..within that time I was not experiencing extra mucous/saliva , I wasn't clearing my throat all day AND I was not experiencing the other side effects of Lipitor ( digestive , muscle pain , nightmares) . My doctor suggested I give it another try because of my cholesterol levels . I gave it another try and there I was AGAIN (!!!) ..practically choking to death in my sleep ( because of the excessive amounts of mucous/saliva) . I refuse to go on ANY statin at this point . I am seeing a dietitian next week ..I decided to try and lower my cholesterol in a natural way . After researching statins , my only conclusion is they do more harm than good .

I have all of your same symptons and have had them for several years, even to the point of feeling like I can't swallow which turns into panic attacks. I have learned how to avoid the pnqaic attacks and would still have the coughing and mucus issues, especially in the morning. Recently I noticed I would be coughing more and clearing my throat (o trying to) more after I brush my teeth. I have been using Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste. Last week I decided to stop using the toothpaste and started using colgate or crest, not anything to do with enamel, and noticed by coughing and clearing of throat has stopped or is very minimal. My wife has noticed too. Could that be the problem? I also have acid reflux but don't seem to notice problems with that because of the meds I take for it.

I have had the same thing since 2013. It started when I broke my leg and was laid up so I got Pneumonia. I should say I am 70 years old now and have always had sinus issues but nothing like this. They put me on all kinds of medications including inhalers, antibiotics, a bunch of stuff as well as Prednisone. When that was over I started getting the mucous and cough back again.. Then went thru 6 broncostomies (sp) and was told not to have another one. I have gone to pulmonologists, internal medicine, ENT, had nasal surgery to open the sinus passages, tried every inhaler made (they all made it worse), tried acid reflux diets, stomach medications, stopped all my supplements (that made it even worse) and all to no avail. Finally took it upon myself with the help of one very special doctor to try and control it. Have not figured out the cause but did the following: Slowly added back supplements specific for general health, immune system, and inflammation and Prednisone. After much experimentation and trial and error we hit upon Zyrtec over the counter, Flonase, and Prednisone (10MG) and my supplements. I have finally gotten down to supplements and Prednisone. I recently tried to get off the Prednisone by tapering down for several days because it causes Osteoporosis. After a few days I had to start it back up. No real diagnosis but 10 MG Prednisone a day with my supplements stops it all.

I have had this problem for 4 months, I have tried every remedy out their. I have been to two different Drs. Got a steroid shot and Nasacort spray. Nothing was Working. It's sounds like post nasal drip and that's what I have. It last a long time and hard to get rid of but I haven't gave up I have tried mulliens tea pills all natural supplements and today I bought muco stop, I start that tomorrow and hopefully get some relief.

This is what I believe is happening to me: Toothpaste has an ingredient called SLS, sodium laurel sulfate, that some people are allergic to and it causes mucosal sloughing, which is the shedding of skin in the mouth. I think that when I brush my teeth right before bed it builds up in my throat in my sleep and in the morning I have to clear my throat and spit the gunk out many times. I finally get it cleared only to have to go through the process again after I brush my teeth in the morning! I’m going to try some SLS-free toothpaste but I have to pay a lot more money for it.

your story is simalar to mine. I have been through hell with mucus inn my mouth all the time and a tight sensation in my throat. Been everywhere in the last 5 years then my GP decided to try buscapan to dry up the mucus. Buscapan is usually to stop bowel spasms but it work for a long time and was such a relief. Unfortunetly I have a COPD and just been unwell again and the issue is slightly back so will discuss this with my GP soon. I have never smoked in my life yet fall to a COPDdue to chest and sinus infections. Good luck
