There are natural remedies that work better than a tetanus shot. Tetanus Tetanotoxinum is a homeopathic vaccine and IV Magnesium. I would NEVER get a vaccine of any kind and there is no reason to as there is ALWAYS a better, more natural way.

I had a shot over a week ago and can't sleep on that shoulder or lift my arm without some pain. Sounds like this is normal. Right?

The sting is usually from one of two things. Either the alcohol had not dissipated after they cleaned your arm, or they injected a cold vaccine into you.

I was given a tetanus injection over 5 months ago & still have terrible pain in my arm. I have been doing exercises at the gym, including weights with that arm. I have gotten to were I can move my arm better but still get the extreme pain when I move my arm to certain positionsl & it even interferes with my sleep. I read about one guy who was still in pain after 2 years ! Could the injection have been out of date? Some nights, I even have to take codeine tablets.
Signed: What to do ?

My arm hurt the next day then was fine for two days. It came back and hurts bad at night. It’s been a week and it’s seems like Advil helps. I had one night where there was no pain I think it’s slowly getting better

Hope yours clears up faster than mine. Almost 6 months and it still gives me off & on pain 24 hrs a day. Physical therapy is finally showing some progress, but far from being back to normal. If anybody wants to give me another tetanus injection, it will have to be after I'm dead or comatose. Bon chance

I got my tetanus shot 4 weeks ago and am still in pain. The nurse told me that I would have stiffness which is totally normal. But it wasn't even sore until almost 48 hours after getting the injection. As a nurse, I was mortified over the fact that the nurse who gave me my shot WAS NOT WEARING GLOVES. Too mortified to even pay attention to if he was actually giving me the injection properly into my deltoid. I hadn't had my tetanus since 2005 so I don't remember this being an issue but it's certainly annoying this time around :(

It seems to be the booster that causes trouble.

Just want you to know that I have that SAME pain a MONTH after shot. I'm currently in physical therapy for it. Thought I was crazy because Dr said pain was NOT related to shot. Sure hope I'm back to normal SOON!!!

I KNOW that feeling. I'm STILL in pain and NOW Physical therapy as a result (a MONTH after my shot). I stopped taking pain meds because they ONLY last four hours and I don't want to take meds 24/7. Good luck.

well I hate to tell you this but it certainly is from the vaccine, Just look up SIRVA shoulder injury due to vaccine administration!! The happened to me over 2 year ago, from a TDAP. I am still having major problems and am still in PT for it! It can damage your rotator cuff, cause frozen shoulder, etc. There is a vaccine compensation program for those that this happens to. Take advantage of it if you don't get well in within 6 months. That is what it is for!
