Virginity-the state of never having sexual intercourse

Are you kidding? If you don't wear feminine products your mom apparently didn't get through to you. This is a messy and smelly thing that happens. Blood has an odor and stains clothes. As far as doing a 12 year old laundry I do my daughter's she is 12 years old and has chores but I do not have her wash her own. She does however help put it in dryer and fold and put away. I don't agree with not using hygiene products this is sanitary and part of being an adult.

You don't "lose" your virginity to tampon. Tampons are very small and most likely will not tear the hymen. Even doing some types of sports or stretching can break the hymen. It's a girls choice and decision when she looses her virginity, and when she feels like she has. When you loose your virginity it's means you have had sex, in one way or another. You're not having sex with a tampon. Even 10 or 11 year olds use small tampons! Does that mean they lost their virginity at that age?! And to the mother who wrote the original post, let her bleed through her pants and underwear in front of the peers and let her be embarrassed, because then she will finally realise how bad and unhygienic it is the not use a product.

Wtf???? Your daughter is old enough to know better . And if you have to pick your daughter up from schools when she bleeds through, don't. Let her be embarrassed and realise what an id**t she is in front of her peers.

You are not loosing your virginity to a tampon. Virginity is not about your hymen!

Wow I wondered if other parents dealt with this same issue, not alone here!! My stepdaughter (13) has had her periods for 2 1/2 years and refuses to wear pads the past few months. We've talked about hygeine and I don't yell or insult. I have her take responsibility for her own laundry but she refuses to clean her soiled clothing - bloody undies sit in her laundry basket for a week and stink and attract bugs. She doesn't care. I have showed her how to rinse and clean her clothes, but unless I actually accompany her through the whole task she won't do it. I have been throwing out the soiled panties the past 3 days and she doesn't care.

My stepdaughter DOES have mental illness (bipolar), like her biological mother, and is on medication which helps tremendously. She also sees a therapist once a week. I am going to bring this hygeine issue (won't be the first one) up to her therapist at the next visit. I am sure it will make my stepdaughter furious with me but I am out of ideas and nobody else in the family is willing/able to help out. I really resent having to be the "tough" parent, but time after time that is what it takes!
