Hi, how about offering her reusable menstrual pads? They come in cute patterns and are more friendly (and healthier) than the dispossable ones, or tampons and not so intimidating. I use a brand called EarthyPads and also PeriodPals. There are so many in the market and they are very comfortable and discrete.

I've always used tampons. The hymen isn't a virginity and it won't break with a tiny little tampon. It has nothing to do with sex anyway. I've always used tampons since day 1 when I was eleven and when I first had sex I felt my hymen RIP and let me tell you I WISHED I had even loosened it with a tampon. You are highly uneducated.

If a girl is old enough for her period, she is old enough to start learning how to do laundry. She can help out, and be assigned simple tasks. Then eventually, she can fully do her own once her understanding is built up.

Wow. Way to force your beliefs on someone you don't know. People are different, people have different levels of modesty or discomfort. Mom has a right to be concerned as much as you have a right to do your thing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Mom doing her laundry. There's nothing wrong with a child learning to do it for themselves, either, but that's their deal, not yours. Different females flow differently; for some fortunate ones it's light, for others it can be very heavy and pads or clothing protection of some sort is necessary to prevent staining clothes, not to mention most of us would be uncomfortable walking around with blood wet panties, pants and skirts. Most girls and women don't like that feeling and especially don't like the knowledge that they're staining their clothes. Who wants to leave blood stains on someone else's chair or have to sit in squishy chairs during school? No sane person.

I'm so glad to hear there's a light at the end of the tunnel.. I also have a daughter age 10, almost 11 she's had her period for a year and refuses to wear them too, she doesn't want to try tampons either.. I came to look if anyone has experienced this with their child and i feel relieved not to be alone, I guess I will keep trying with her.

Tampons do not cause you to loose your virginity..... Virginity is only considered lost when a female has vaginal intercourse with a male!! Tampons are small enough in most cases to pass through the opening of the hymen and not cause an issue. some girls have their hymen broken from sports such as horseback riding , gymnastics ect. Some girls are born with a minimal to no hymen present.

This is so narrow minded and regressive.
A girl is allowed to use what she wants to control her period.

Try using cloth, all natural period pads.
They also make 100% cotton pads that are better than the ones with the plastic top sheet .
I suffered from ocd as a kid and had the same issue.
Or buy her some really thick underwear they make special period panties.

They make panties that are designed to be worn without a pad. They have extra padding in the crotch.
Maybe try those ?
This sounds like some sort of mental illness or an issue of not wanting to be uncomfortable... Either way it needs to be worked out.
Try the period panties , that might be the easiest solution to your problem.
They also make cloth pads.

Totally disagree NEVER ALLOW TAMPON USE for young girls they are painful, messy, toxic shock syndrome higher risk. Tampon should be used by girls after 1st baby or adult.
