Hello. So, I just turned 15 on March 26. I lost my virginity to my boyfriend some time in February 2012, when I was 14. The first time we had sex, it hurt really bad and my vagina bled until a few days later. The second time we had sex it hurt, but not as bad, and it gradually got to where it didn't hurt anymore. (I understand that pain and bleeding is normal because of a broken hymen) My boyfriend and I continued to have PROTECTED sex every Friday, sometimes multiple times, except for the Fridays when I was on my period. It was usually always rough sex.. Wednesday of last week, I went to my doctor because I was very tired and my stomach hurt. My doctor asked me if I was sexually active in front of my mom, so I said no. He pushed on my stomach and my uterus was sore.. When I got home, I took a pregnancy test and it came back as negative. I am on birth control pills and I was supposed to start my period yesterday. I did start my period yesterday, but it has been abnormally light, considering my periods are usually heavy. I've barely been bleeding at all, and when I do bleed, it's just old blood... What's going on?... I haven't been doing any new physical activity, or eating anything different, but I HAVE been stressing alot lately. Could that have anything to do with it? Also, I took a shower earlier and I decided to look at my vagina to see if anything looked different down there, and the vaginal hole looked like it was blocked with some kind of fleshy thing. I can still put tampons in there, though. Could that just be a ripped hymen? My boyfriend and I haven't had sex since somewhere in between two weeks ago on Friday, and monday of last week. So, my main questions are: 1. Why is my period so light? 2. What is blocking my vagina hole? Thanks for the help.
Hi GE123,

There are many things that could be affecting the color of your menstruation or flow.  First you are on bc pills, that may be affecting the color.  Stress, diet and even hormonal changes in your body.  How long have you been on the pill?

Secondly, the fleshly tissue you are describing may be your hymen.  Was your boyfriend sexually active before you?  Did your doctor check you for any stds?  Not to suggest that is the case, but unprotected sex is never a great idea, unless you are in a monogamous relationship and even then you still make yourself susceptible to these issues.

Hope that helps some.

Best wishes!

I've been on the bc pills for a few months now, long enough for me to be regular.. My boyfriend and I were both virgins when we first had sex. My doctor did not check me for stds, but my boyfriend and i have never had unprotected sex. We ALWAYS use a condom.

Good to hear. Sounds like you are taking necessary precautions. If the tissue remains an issue or continues blocking the vaginal entrance you may want to talk with your doctor about it.

The truth is tampons can also puncture or rip the hymen. However, going this route may cause your doc to probe further about your sexual activity...
