Dear Guest who succeeded with a MDS BVA appeal. I'm a VN vet and filed a MDS claim due to AO exposure. Claim was denied so now I'm filing a Notice of Disagreement and would like very much to obtain any documentation you have to establish the AO / MDS relationship.
Dear Bocavet, how can I get copies of the 23 citations you mention? I too have MDS and am a VN vet.
Yes, I am a Viet Nam veteran and have been diagnosed with MDS. I was diagnosed at a VA Hospital in 2005 and am still fighting the VA about the possibility of MDS being brought on by Agent Orange. In fact, my appeal will be heard at the end of January. There are many online articles that concur that Agent Orange may be a factor in MDS.
AO was used on a number of sites within the United States. My MDS came from my service in Vietnam.
I have myelodyplastic discovered in 2007. I'm still fighting VA for my disability. I was temporary duty at Phu Cat air base Vietnam in 1967 and assigned to Vietnam in 1969. Unfortunately I had duty in and around Agent Orange so that is the only place that I know that caused my MDS. I traveled on convoys from Cam Rahn Bay through Ban Me Thout up to Bu Prang into Cambodia and on the travels got to see and go through the Agent Orange dripping off rubber plantation trees and lots of jungle canopy. I wish you luck on getting the compensation which you so rightly deserve. There is a decisive letter from the VA Docket No 04-20 667, Archive 01/05/05 in which the appellant is awarded entitlement for service connection of myelodyplastic from Agent Orange exposure. Hope this helps and good luck
My husband was on DMZ Zone in 1962-63 in Korea. He died in 2005 from MDS that had developed into
luekemia. Do you think there might be a connection to agent orange. I see they have now acknowleged Korea
DMZ Zone as being exposed for the later part of 60s. If any information on others at that time peroid would
be appreciated.
I would be interested in reviewing the responses you received. Thank you

My husband died in 2013 of MDS and AML. He applied for benefits shortly before he died but got no answer. Have you had any luck with your claim? If so, what did you use to support your claim?
Thank you very much.
My name is Al KAZAKAITIS. I was in Vietnam in 1970/1971 as an infantryman with C 2/501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. I was diagnosed with MDS late January 2013. I would appreciate any information you can provide for filing for MDS with the VA. My initial claim was denied for MDS in June 2014 but I still have until June 2015 to file additional information. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
