AT LEAST ALL OF YOU WOMEN CAN  HAVE A FREAKIN BLOOD TEST DONE! My job does not offer medical insurance and I can't get a damn doctor to do any tests without the insurance or that positive on the pee test. I've had 2 miscarriages and I don't want to do anything to harm this pregnancy (if I am pregnant.) Does having cysts on your ovaries affect how much HcG hormone is produced? If the hormone is produced from the embryo, then isn't it a bad thing if the embryo is not producing enough of the hormone?

I've read a lot of forums on this topic and it seems like this kind of thing happens a lot, especially since most doctors try and say it doesn't. Makes me wonder why doctors want to generalize pregnancies and also say pregnancy is not possible with a negative urine test. I went to a clinic and she told me that all of the stories I read about women being pregnant (even with negative urine tests) were just "opinion and not fact." How can a woman's first hand experience be just an "opinion?" She also tried to tell me that blood tests were the same as urine tests, which I've read up on and they're not. Quantitative is better. The kidneys filter out the HcG hormone, whereas the blood does not. I'm beginning not to trust doctors, especially since the doctor I saw with my last pregnancy failed to tell me that: BV can return, that I should take preventative measures, and that it can cause miscarriage. She also didn't tell me that by taking the antibiotic I was killing all of the bacteria in my vagina which will most definitely make the BV return and be worse when it does (and I read it returns 3 months after taking the antibiotic.) I had weekly visits to monitor my pregnancy due to a previous miscarriage. They did an ultra sound of my baby and told me he was perfectly healthy. When I was 4 and a half months along my water broke out of the blue. I had an autopsy done to find out the cause of the miscarriage. It was an infection... Do the math: I was diagnosed with BV a month and a half in and I had a miscarriage due to "an infection" 4 and a half months along= 3 months. MY BABY DIED DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE OF A DOCTOR. THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU ALL OF THE FACTS THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

The clinic doctor I saw recently was an old lady. It was recent studies that showed that blood tests are better. Has it ever occurred to anyone that most doctors aren't up to date with new studies? Doctors only have to go to school and pass a test once, they don't have to keep studying and make sure they're up to date do they?

someone please help. I'm going crazy. The last period I had was on April 3rd. I'm always on a 28 day cycle and am always on time. On may 6th, 5 days late, I had brown spotting for 6 days. I have taken 2x hpt and 1x bpt all negative it's now may 15th and I've been feeling tired, had light cramps on an off and have felt nautious and lots of gas. Sorry to go into detail, looking for some answers?? Is it possible I tested too early. Should I test again or just wait and see if next months cycle comes. Thanks!!

No one ever replies to mine. I had the same thing happen. Why don't you research the subject. I found at least 1000 online cases of this happening to women. But pregnancy and medical forums are filled with people posting only their problems with no responses back, so good luck with your problem.

I would love to hear from anyone that has dealt with or knows someone who has had an abdominal pregnancy (the fetus implants and grows outside the uterus or fallopian tubes). I have had 2 negative blood tests and my doctor is convinced I can not be pregnant because my blood work says I am in menopause. We have done two ultrasounds showing no fetus and a normal size uterus. There is a cyst on an ovary we are watching for cancer, but no sign of a fetus where they are looking.
Here's the thing. I was sure I was pregnant due to all my symptoms, then I had a negative blood test and felt  I must have been mistaken. I have a chronic illness that requires monthly infusions that I was hesitant to do if pregnant. After the blood test I went ahead with a treatment.  A few weeks after that, I started feeling what felt like fetal movement, butterfly tickling feelings. I was so sure that the blood test had been wrong that I insisted on the ultrasound that was done.
After that they sent me to my gastroenterologist, who treats my chronic illness (Crohn's disease). She thought I sure looked pregnant and insisted on another blood test for pregnancy before doing other tests to assess the Crohn's. She thought I might have an abdominal pregnancy. Again a negative result. She then ordered a CAT scan to assess the Crohn's and said a fetus would be able to be seen with as well if there. All that is seen is a distention of the intestines, but that does not account for the degree of abdominal distention I have had. I am not getting any bigger now and no longer feel the movements I was feeling. If I were pregnant I would be due at the end of June so I'm prety sure I would be much bigger by now and feel a lot of strong  movement. My concern is that there is a fetus there and we have managed to harm it with all the tests  and medications I would never consider doing if I knew I were pregnant.
I have read some articles about abdominal pregnancies and some of the women have no clue they are pregnant until they go for surgery for something else that the doctors think is wrong. Did they not feel movement? Did they not grow excessively large? Did they have negative pregnancy tests? None of these questions were answered in the articles. This kind of pregnancy is very dangerous for the mother and baby, but there are stories of successful deliveries as well. What should I do? We are discussing doing surgery for the Crohn's disease, but not until after more tests and other medicines are tried. If there is still a viable fetus there, do I risk doing it more harm or do I let them keep postponing the surgery until it is close to when I would be due in hopes that the baby is alive and will have a greater chance of survival?
