Neuroma is a condition where one of the nerves that controls your toes gets squashed or pinched by the surrounding tissue or overgrowth and that is what is causing the constant symptoms, regardless of the shoes you wear or resting the leg. Morton's Neuroma, which seems to e more often, is caused by changes in the nerve that is located between third and fourth toe. But, neuromas can happen anyplace and I'm afraid that the only definite treatment is surgical in order to relieve the pressure the nerve has been put to.
