no fetal heartbeat, mistake?

Thank You for posting. I just found out today at 10 weeks that my baby has no heartbeat and measured at 8 weeks. I scheduled my D&C for Friday but now reading your stories and other peoples stories I am going to request another US.

This is my situation. The baby is there and with abnormal heartbeat and after one week no heartbeat? Im curious what happen to you... did your baby continue to grow and found heartbeat afterwards?

i was 9 weeks and 3 days when i went for a normal check up, the doctors does the vaginal sonogram and sees the baby but no heartbeet so they said the baby was dead.. i had hope the baby was still alive i wasent bleeding or cramping , then4 days later i started bleeding alot and eventualy that night the baby came out in the sack :/ it was really sadd ! 

Hey everyone commmenting that they have expierenced this and wonder what happened and what to expect..

sadly a day before mothers day 2012 i was 3 mnth 1 weeks pregnant  and i was very happy to have found that out. and already baby shopping. and when i went to my checkup one day hoping to see the heartbeat, they couldnt find it.. first they said oh its just to early maybe? and so i left and i had another checkup and then no they could find it and then they gave me one ultra sound pic of my baby and it was just laying on the sac. but i thought nothing bad.. they gave it 2 weeks and i went back and nope sure enough no heartbeat and then they send me to the hospitol and they checked.. and then i was there all night and then i was bleeding after the ultra sound. but they said they werent sure enough if its a miscarraige or not and by them im alll mad because there doctors and they dont even know what going on with me like " if i was their first person to have a miscarraige in there hosptiol"

and then they send me home and then couple days later i started cramping at 12:00 a.m. and i go to the local hospitol and they say its a miscarraige and they stilll send me home bleeding and everything and proscribed me vicadin which didnt help my pain, and then i start having something that felt like contractions cause the pain would come and go and then every " contraction of pain" came i felt the need to push . and after 4-5 hrs. i went to the toilet and pushed and something was hanging out of me/: my baby .. 

so basically if the doctors dont find a heartbeat , its most likely a miscarraige even if you dont start bleeding yet or cramping.. like i said it took like a couple days for me to feel the pain after finding out there was no heartbeat godbless

same happened to me except i was farther along and had it in my own home/:

I went for my first ultrasound for my 3rd pregnancy on Tuesday to find out my due date, only to hear from the doc that I was measuring at 7 1/2 weeks and there was no heartbeat or fetal blood flow. He didn't seem hopefully at all that things would change or any doubt that he could be wrong. I was given 3 choices, to wait it out and let my body take the course of miscarriage, have a D&C or take pills to cause a miscarriage. I wouldn't even consider the second two choices, so here I am waiting it out, having another ultrasound on Tuesday and getting a second opinion at a different facility on Thursday. I have had 2 successful, wonderful, healthy pregnancies and now have 2 beautiful girls, 7 years and 19 months. I'm still having consistent and strong pregnancy symptoms just like I did the first two times. I really hope that the next ultrasound proves the doctor wrong. But I understand that the situation may not change and I have to try and accept that. Just wondering if there is anyone out there with a similar situation that did turn around for the better. I'm praying for someone to please give me some positive feedback!!

i am sorry for your loss-i had 3 previous miscarraiges before a healthy baby born 30 + year's ago.
no ultrasounds-fetal monitors,etc. back then.am hoping for the best for you

I am in a similar boat, I think. I had an early miscarriage in August. I am pregnant again now. First scan went great at almost 8 weeks. They did say the baby was measuring small but that was normal. We did see the heartbeat and that was normal also. They scheduled me back for my almost 10 week appt 2 weeks later and I was shocked to find out that the baby only had 3 days worth of growth in 2 weeks and the heartbeat had slowed down to a 100. The dr did not have hardly any hope, said to prepare for the worst, but that she would check again in a week to see if there was a heartbeat. Since she did not seem optimistic at all, I went to a specialist the next day for a second opinion. He said there was slim to zero chance and offered to do an ultrasound as well. The US tech only checked for a few mins and came back and said, sorry, no heartbeat. Could there have been that much change in 24 hours?? They have me scheduled for a d&e on monday. I am devastated and scared to go thru with it on case they are wrong. Any advice? Love and best wishes to you all.

I had my 2 u/s on Friday. I was 11wks 6 days and got told baby only measured 9wks and had no heartbeat. Our first u/s was a dating scan and told us I was 6wks 4 days and baby had a strong heart beat at 143bpm. I'm sure I can still feel the tiny first movements (we have 4 others kids) and I'm waiting on another scan and want to get doctor to take blood to test hcg etc. I am so wanting this to be wrong and think the doctors offer d & c before they double check everything. The sonographer didn't even get another sonographer to check! So far no cramping, no pain and no discharge of any kind and baby has supposedly been gone 3wks. Holding out hope they were wrong!

I am so sorry i Know how you feel i Lost a baby on June 2012 and Iam pregnant again i went to Er and they can not find a fetal heartbeat iam scard to death that iam going through the SAME PAIN AGAIN AND I ALSO ASK I SELF LIKE WHY ME WHAT HAPPEN.

I to have just been through this, I've had one healthy pregnancy in 2010 and have a little girl who's 2. Me and my partner tryed again and got pregnant straight away, everything was going fine until last Tuesday when I had some brown discharge, I rang my gp and he booked Myers in for a early scan to check if every was ok, we'll the sonographer couldn't find a heartbeat so booked me in for second scan for the 19/03/13 leading up to that scan I was admitted to hospital very ill and dehydrated they brought the date forward to the 18/03 and still no change, so schedualed a d&c the day after which I have recovered from 2 days later. I had no cramping or bleeding so was shocked to find out it was a missed miscarriage, I myself nether until this looked into miscarriage and how common it is the dr said leave it 3 cycles and try again bout ime scared in case it happens again in the future, I don't think I could ever go through this again both physically and emotionally, has anyone gone on to have normal full term pregnancys after this has happened the chances are 20% on the statistics but ime not sure this reassures me. Sorry for all your losses x

Hi. I went in last Friday because i had some bleeding after intercourse the night before. My doctor did and exam and decided everything was fine. I asked him to do an ultrasound as well just to make sure. He did an abdominal ultrasound first and couldnt find a heartbeat. Then he did a vaginal, and still nothing. I'm supposed to be 11 weeks, and i think he was saying it measured at around 8 weeks. He did blood work that afternoon and he is doing more tomorrow, Monday. He is going to compare the levels. He thinks the baby is dead, and I will miscarry soon. But i can't go through that. I can't just wait to miscarry. This is horrible. I'm going to ask for another ultrasound after the bloodwork results. And if the levels have gone down and no heartbeat is found, I think i'll ask him to schedule a D&C.

Sorry to hear of your news, it a horrible thing to go through. I was the same i just knew i couldn't wait for a miscarriage so scheduled a d&c ime now 8 days post d&c and I physically feel fine. I hope in your case it turns out good news.

Oh dear thats really sad! Good that advanced options like radiology is available now. At Least you could know what was wrong!
