no fetal heartbeat, mistake?

I can't believe some of these comments. It's sad enough for a mom when they miscarry without all the negative comments. I have one beautiful little but this time around things didn't go as planned. We heard a heart beat at 7wks but when I went back 4wks later the baby never grew and there was no longer a heartbeat. They took measurements and figured out the baby had died about 3wks ago. I have waited it out a week to see it I will naturally miscarry but no signs or symptoms are happening. My D & C is scheduled this week. It is not an abortion bc I wanted my baby and I did not chose for it to stop growing. Anyone who considers it an abortion doesn't know what they are talking about. An abortion is when someone doesn't want the baby inside regardless if its alive or not! I know have an Angel baby watching over our family. I am sorry for any women who have to go through a miscarriage. It's extremely devastating mentally and physically.

there is a chance dont give up hope when you go to get the d&c done the will check again and if the child is moving even if they cant hear or see the heart beat your child is still alive or if the child is still developing

I agree a dnc is just another for abortion, I went to the doctor on Wednesday July 3rd utralsound showed a very small what looked like a fetal pole according to my lmp I should have been around 7 weeks measurements from utralsound suggestion 5 weeks so I was scheduled to go back for another on the following Tuesday which would have put me at 5wks 6days according the the utralsound and from the time I ovulated not my lmp I should be 5wks 6days tech still didn't see a heartbeat remember I'm only 5wks 6days which is normal so I was sent for beta levels Tuesday afternoon they were 18000 Thursday they did not double but however they did go up to 19000 which they increased 1000 but DID not decrease doctor wasn't happy with levels and ordered another utralsound which this time it showed the yolk sac that it never showed before so its progressing but the heartbeat wasn't found and another reminder I'm only 6wks 2days by this time so my doctor said rite then and there he wanted to do a dnc no letting me think about this letting it sink it or even understanding what he's saying I refused and went for a second opioion the 2md doctor suggests I wait two weeks because its very possible that the heartbeat hasn't developed because I'm to early and I also have a tilted uterus but do not jump the gun because there is still hope I have had no signs what so ever of a miscarriage no bleeding no cramping nothing I am hoping and praying for the best, if the 1st doctor is rite and it turns out to be an unviable pregancy I would rather my body disregard it then having to live with no knowing if I killed my baby or not by having a dnc so early

Those of you who were bleeding and were told you were miscarrying, it may not be so.  My mother was told this and didn't listen when the doctor wanted her to do a d n c. She went somewhere else and they told her to wait it out that if it got worse to call. If not for my mother, my 32 year old brother wouldn't be here. 

Unfortunately for him, he and his wife just suffered a miscarriage today.  The doctors are currently examining her because they have no idea what is wrong. There are no signs of a miscarriage but no heart beat.  The baby is measuring up to date, so the loss of heartbeat was recent. This is their 4th child. The first 3 pregnancies were a breeze, last two no epi. Her doctor told her she had a 'mommy body' and was built for childbirth. 

If anyone has any ideas on what happened, could you please post. She did just have a uti and her doctor gave her medicine on the 12th, and by the 18th the baby had no heartbeat.

I am curious how this played out. Did out have the baby or miscarried? I ask because my daughter had a miscarriage in April this year and should now be almost ten week with this pregnancy. They saw the HB at 6 wks 3 days trans vag us but 2 wks later no HB but they did the out side us.

Yesterday I had an appointment for my 1st ultrasound. Well, 5 days prior to theappointment I started to bleed. No cramping. The bleeding was little amount & stopped the same day it started. During the ultrasound they said there was no heartbeat & was measuring about 6 weeks when I was to be 10.5 weeks. The doctor is doing blood tests to confirm, but I feel another ultrasound needs to be done by another ultrasound tech before D&C. This is my 3rd pregnancy & my 1st 2 were without any complications.

I'm in the same position. What was your outcome?

I just had my first vaginal ultra sound and they said my sack is eight weeks and the baby is at the right size and should be able to see the heart beat. They can not see the heart beat and told me and my husband about our options. They had said the dnc. But I'm not cramping and not bleeding. Should I ask for another vaginal ultra sound. This is our first child.

I also have inadverted uterus. Had many miscarriages. Don't know if this is linked. I don't think I will have ultrasound scans again. 8 weeks no heart beat. Jus waiting for next scan.

Hi....I just went to the ob and had an US. I am 9 weeks and 5 days. I was told that the fetal pole had no heartbeat and only grew ti 8 weeks 5 days. I have been on progesterone since week 5. I have had 3 other miscarriages. This is the first one that made it to 8 1/2 weeks. I had my progesterone levels checked and it was at a 14. Pretty low. My doctor assured me that it wasn't the progesterone but my maternal age (40) that may have been a factor in the loss.

I sympathize with you all because I too have experienced miscarriages.At 6weeks had a u/s showed 2 sacs with 2 embryos no heartbeat yet.at 9wks had another u/s saw heartbeats of both o e was more active then the next.a week later went to a facility to get the dating/aging official ultrasounds.one twin measured 10wks 4days with heartbeat and moving around.other twin measured 10wks 1day not moving and no heartbeat.I'm really hoping that something was wrong with the machine or my tilted uterus is making it difficult to see and a transnational would work instead.

Hi Ma'am... Sorry for asking this question but until now I can't put my mind at ease... My wife undergone D&C last March because there was no fetal heartbeat heard both on US and VUS. What surprises me is that after D&C there was no fetus... The OB said it turns to blood after D&C... I'm not convinced. 15 weeks old the fetus was.

What was the outcome?

I went to the doctor today for my first pregnancy ultrasound. They told me there was no heartbeat and no movements. I am also 11 1/2 weeks and I feel horrible that this unfortunate event has struck so suddenly. I did not bleed nor have any negative symptoms of any kind. I did not smoke nor drink. I ate healthy meals everyday and took my prenatal pills as instructed. I have been crying all day and I literally feel very dull. I don't know why this would happen when I was doing everything right... Anywho... My prayers goes out to anyone who is going threw the same thing. This is such a physical and mental roller coaster! 

I'm in the same situation. How did it turn out? Was there a
mistake?
