I was on mirena for 2 years, then got off half a year ago, but haven't had a period for the last 4 months. Should I worry? I'm going to see the doctor this week.

Writing this to help anyone who might be in the same situation as I was. I had my Mirena removed in Jan 2021. No period for a year. My doc tested all hormone levels, everything normal. She then gave progesterone to kick start period. Nothing happened, no period. FINALLY I had an ultrasound and guess what, the HORMONE SLEEVE that surrounds the middle part of the IUD was still inside of me. "Just sitting there, not stuck." This was particularly crazy because the doc showed me the full "T" when she removed it -- she just didn't know that the hormone part could come off. Supposedly none of the docs in the office or even the OBs at the local hospital had heard of this happening. I am so thankful I was able to discover the cause and not think I was suddenly infertile as I have read so many women say all over the internet. Please insist on an ultrasound if you are still waiting for your period months after removing Mirena IUD!.

I experienced a delay of 3 months before my period returned after IUD removal. Has anyone had a similar experience?
