My girlfriend recently got back from Marines boot camp.. and when getting the scoop on it all , she said she only had 1 light period for 1 day during the WHOLE 3 months she was there and has not had one since.. she was not pregnant before she went (trust me, they check for that stuff with a fine tooth comb).
She also mentioned getting a shot that would "slow down" the process (I still don't know what she means by that) but confirmed to me that the shot she received was NOT Depo-Provera. Although, the cease-fire (lol military pun) of her periods could have also been caused by the frequent physical activity and weight loss.
While she was back we had unprotected sex 3 times... each time ended in nothing because we/she got worried about it, which is fine because I definitely know I didn't finish.. but I was just wondering about the whole deal with her not having a period for a while and the whole pre-cum deal and if anyone has any info on any BC shot other than Depo...
Im assuming that conception is much more likely when there is a steady cycle.. am I wrong?
I just worry alot...
Thanks

when my best friend went to boot camp she was given high doses of hormones (as were all the girls) to stop there periods so that it wouldnt interfere with training. it should get back to normal. and its not birth control.
Birth control is a higher dose of hormones... However, that type of birth control is usually the after morning pill... The shot does contain hormones as well, one of the reasons it stops the period.
