Says it all in the title. I have no signs of fever, including chills and malaise. I'm a male, and as we all know, males are babies and we feel worse when we're sick, so I know when I'm sick.

I have a consistently stopped-up nose, and when it is cleared or I hack and cough up, the sputum AND the mucous both smell very foul, much like anaerobic bacteria. Honestly, off the record, it smells like nasty dog poop. It can never be completely cleared. I moved to a dry part of the country a few years ago and have had allergy problems ever since, so a stopped-up nose is not new to me. However, this smell is extremely foul and has been with me for about 10 days.

Is this a local infection? Is it anaerobic bacteria colonized in my nose?

Are there any OTC preparations that will take care of this, like saline?

Do I need to see my regular doctor, or do I need to see an ENT doctor, possibly for C&S tests?
