I have a swell on the left side of my waist area. It looks like 'fat'. But the right side is normal. Aside from not feeling any pain when being pressed, when i look at the mirror, it is obvious that it's not proportionate. What can this be? What procedure can I undergo? Thank you.
Hello,
Sounds like you might have a fatty tumor coming from the peripheral nervous system. The myelin or fat wrapping around axons sometimes misbehave and proliferate themselves. This is not an uncommon situation. Many people get them and live with them for years. These fatty tumors are generally benigh meaning they will cause no harm to you. To be on the safe side you should check it out with your doctor. If you tumor is bothering you because of where it is located, it can be removed by a surgeon. Nevertheless, I don't think you have anything to worry about at the moment. No doubt a tumor at the waistline could cause a problem for form fitting clothes such as those that have waistbands.
