This also happened to me two years in a row. But what I did the night before probably started the problem . I remember plucking a nostril hair out with my fingers the night before. I decided to look up under my nostril with a head light and a small automotive mirror that fit perfectly into the front part of my nostril. Wow even though the problem felt like it was on the out side of my nose there was a tiny white head on the inside right on the edge. So with some help from my wife I used a sterile needle and barley poked it. Immediately it opened up and a large bloody puss white head popped out f.... it hurt like hell. I then squeezed it by applying presser on the top of my nose bleeding it out until clear liquid was present. Ten minutes later the pain subsided. What a huge pain relief. Do it yourself.

I had the same problems as you report : a painfull and a mildly swollen nose bridge (like a punch) also seasonal allergy. The nose thing began friday in the mid part of the nasal bone. I was surprised but not concerned on Saturday more pain and the pain got to the upper nose and the affected area was reddish and slightly swollen. Sunday same thing (at this time I was concerned). Monday morning went to the doctor and he prescribed neti pot, nasal spray and more anthistamines said there was no sinus apparently (I carefully did everything) but the condition wasn`t improving. Tuesday woke up with a swollen eyebag and a headache (I got frightened) went to ER took Xray and confirmed there was no sinus (a huge relief for me becasue it pays visit every year during allergy). He diagnosed Dacryocystitis (I don't know about that) got an antiinflamatory shoot and was prescribed voltaren. It's not gone but it has improved a lot and I am relaxed because I know it's nothing serious. My advice: go to the doctor and have an X ray just to be safe.

So just a sinus infection?

Doctors said there is no sinus...I wonder if this is not some kind of autoinmune disorder...because I feel my nasal bone has a real injury...
For now it looks much better: still pain but the pain area is shrinking.
Weird thing all this!

I have this and was just diagnosed with cellulitis. Put on clindamyacin 300 mg/ 3x/day. I woke up a week ago and felt like someone hit me across the bridge of my nose with a pipe. I asked my family if they could remember me being hit on the nose. I got new glasses that did not fit right and that may have been part of it. For a week my nose hurt worse and worse and got more swollen. But it was not sinuses and did not hurt anywhere else except my nose externally. I took NyQuil thinking maybe it was a sinus infection and that did nothing. Today my nose was more swollen, my cheeks were red and my eyes were extremely puffy. I had a fever of 101 yesterday and during the night. So for all these posts without a solution, that is probably what it is. It is very painful and I hope you feel better.

I thought I was the only one and I was loosing my mind!! This is the second time I have had this in two months. I have the same symptoms as all of you. It hurts so bad. I wear glasses and I can't barely wear them because the bridge of my nose is so bruised and red.
