I am a 24 year old woman living in georgia. I was diagnosed as having adhd, add and dylexia as a child. My mother was my caretaker and guargian since I was a child. She was very abusive. Molesting me as a child and verbally and mentally abusing me all through my teens and early twenties. At 18 I was sent to work at a menail shirt pressing job. I was not allowed to have access to any of money. And she picked up my checks. I was only allowed to have what she "permitted" me to have. I was not allowed to have an ID. Nor a driver's license. When I treid to get an id my mother stole the money order and cashed it, keeping iit for herslef.
A couple of moths ago I moved out to live with my boyfriend and told my mother that she would no longer be getting any of my checks. I told this to my employer as well. I went in to work the next week to find that they had handed the check over to her anyway. And I was told by my emplyer that that "was as it should be."
Again, I have no form of ID, so I have no way of cashing my check. I contacted the bank, where I ended up finding out that my mother had used fake ID to open up a bank account, credit cards, write bad checks in my name. I had a fraud investigation started and marched down to the bank to talk to them myslef.
I had my name taken off the fake account and was told that I could open up my own account,even though I did not have an ID. I was told that I could use my school ID to cash my checks. But I went in a couple weeks later to find out that the bank had frozen the account along with the 100 depsit...Because of a "fraud investigation." I was then given a number of a woman to talk to. I have called five times and she will not spea to me or return calls. So I had no way of cashing my check.
I asked my employers if they would cash it but they refused.
I have no birth cirtificate or social security card since my mother "mysteriuosly" lost it when I was trying to get an ID. So I would have been up to a moth or month in a half before I could get my ID. I had no money. No way to get to work. Plus my hours had been cut back to 15 a week.
I cannot apply for disbilty becasue there is a 100 in my account I cannot use.
I am very depressed.

I read your story and I was abused in every way as well. I am 35 and finaaly i found someone to trust and to heal me. Do you have your birth certificate? You can get one, you can order it on line or go to the court house and ask them. With that you should be able to get and id. Do you have ss card? You can go to that office and get one, its pretty easy. I also think maybe you should try to find out through the courts on how to be like amansapatted. Does any doctors say that you have to have a guardian to look after your $? If you put your mind to it you can do it; hold your head up hi. Good luck with it all.
