I have had some similar symptoms and don't know what it is either. I do have a low thyroid which they are working on regulating and think that this may be the answer, but I'm not so sure. I am having trouble with breathing as well. I'm getting the air, but my chest feels heavy and it's also on my left side. My throat sometimes feels heavy, thick and I get twitching a lot on my left side. Right now it's in my abdomen going towards my back. Sometimes I'll start to feel better and then I just feel ill all over again the next day. I've been sick for over three weeks now. Did you get any anwsers?

I have been having a very hard time breathing. Taking a deep breath is more of a chore than anything. I went to the doctor he first thought it to be GERD we tried Nexium and this had no effect he then proceeded to expain maybe ashma. I have qiut somking for about two months now figured maybe this was a sign to qiut but the trouble is still there I feel a very strange pressure just below my rib cage and some pains in my right lung I had Xrays EKG and blood work these all came back normal. My doctor has me set up to have a hulter monitor to check my heart for problems also booked for a breathing test and then I'm having an endoscopy to check more in depth but I must say when you are trying to take a deep breath or yawn and you cant it scares the c**p out of me has anyone had the same symtoms? if so do you find anything that helps? or can anyone recomend some tests I can ask my doc about
any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Josh

my doc says FMS. my left hip is constantly uncomfortable, through groin into thigh. i thought maybe was due to landing hard on the end of a sleighbed which left a 4 inch deep bruise. but after the neurologist & orthopeadics didn't find anything, my chiropractor found vsc in neck more on right side and atrophy on middle left back. he says it is referred pain by T3 or something in my back. i cannot sleep on left side without pain. it's been like this for 5 years every single day. i went to regular doc 5 yrs ago with sore throat, clogged left nose (felt like something in it), muscle weakness like been poisoned, dizziness, faintness in summer heat, sharp sudden needle pains that occured in my head or leg when i burped, constant burping, constant peeing every 15 mins, shakey feeling, daily nausea, ibs, fatigue, tight muscles. i was also told to see a shrink for possible anxiety. after 2 weeks started to get better and after 3 months most symptoms gone. Took vitamins and ate healthy (though i always have anyway) and walked for exercise. i removed all air fresheners from house and it helped the nausea go away. still have burping episodes when under stress for days. still have the clogged nose on left side and thought maybe tooth abssess or fungi. had dental filling on left side. ear, throat doc said probably allergies. when had the cold doc said it put pressure on eusthetian tube. i have trouble also catching breath, especially under stress, so slow breathing helps that. cold air, talking, milk, brushing teeth, makes me gag with lots of mucos. i found the only thing that helps nose is nasal spray. if things get really bad, valium can help relax muscles cause they are constantly tight especially left side. i think maybe due to years of driving stick shift. my hands feel puffy in the morning. i still have to see rheumatoligist and back doc but don't have money yet. my theory is, once your back is screwed up, you may expect FMS. it comes and goes but the tight muscles and pain are always there. just stay healthy and get massage when you can. avoid allergies, dust etc. eat right, drink water.

For exactly one year I have had the same problems. I have thought I had many things, tried many remedies, then started at square one again. When I am having a breathing attack I suck on peppermint candy, peppermint altoids, or peppermint tea. Peppermint & Ginger tea seem to work better. Apple Cider vinegar was my only relief at first but then I needed 8 dental fillings from the vinegar. Then do sell it in capsule form but I didn't go any further. Walking brings sometimes the only relief. passing gas, belching helps. Sometimes just forcing myself to have a bowel movement makes it all better. I have to squat like some countries still do which is more natural and easier.
I think the problem is in my stomache. I know someone who had same symptoms years ago and it was a duodinal ulcer, a silent ulcer meaning no pain. Particularly cuz we both yawn all the time with it.
Good luck all hope this helps someone.
When I am cured I will post again.
I will find my cure.

I had all the same symptoms as you guys. I GAVE UP COFFEE FOR NEW YEARS AND I AM HEALED NOW FOR 19 DAYS!!! It may be the caffeine or it may be the acid coffee creates. As long as I stay away from coffee even decaf I can finally breathe again! Halleluyah! Now I started taking 4oz coffee mixed with 4oz of milk cuz i miss it so much and the problem is only so slight at this amount. Hope this helps you. Chocolate is caffeine too. Hope this helps someone else.

I, like most of you, have had similar symptoms as you all. I was having trouble getting a full breath while in the water. I would wade out in the middle of the ocean on bowies set-up as borders between boats and swimming areas. While swimming one last time, in the hot sun. As I swam back to shore, I heard a very audible pop in the left-side of my chest. I then had a serious issue swimming back to shore; I thought I was going to drown. I felt very sluggish and had trouble taking a breathe. Talk about scary situation. After reaching shore, I was trembling and felt woozy and light-headed. I went home and rested that evening, but my symptoms didn't subside at all. I had a flight scheduled the next day and felt very nervous about the flight not knowing what the flight may do to me. I prayed like crazy in hopes that I wouldn't die on the flight. It was terrible....

Upon my return, my symptoms dissipated, but one evening I felt like a panic attack and was unable to catch my breath. I went to the ER and they proceeded to tesy my blood, chest x-rays, and heart monitor overnight. They told me I didn't have anything wrong with me. All tests, such as, ECG, and stress tests were normal. To this day, I have difficulty catching my breath. It has become a part of my life, and not a good part. Any information would be welcomed in what I and others are suffering from.

Guest, thank you for posting your experience because it sounds to me like you were suffering from some pretty scary symptoms and I don't think very many people are aware that high blood pressure can do that to you. I think that your insight is very helpful and I hope you can provide more in the future. Thanks again!
