Oh Donna! I am soooo sorry to hear this! I'm scared for myself as well! I had my entire neck replaced (2 rods - 10 screws) 2 years ago. I have to say total recovery took 2 yrs.... yes just back to 100% and now I am having pain, tingling and numbness in my right arm & hand (which is what brought me to discover how bad my neck really was!). My Dr has ordered an MRI and we are waiting for approval from the ins co. I am also having reoccurring lower back pain which was also diagnosed with degenerative disc disease back in 2010. I am only 50 and I am soooo depressed & scared that this is all reoccurring after such a lengthy reocvery! I wish you well and hope things get better for you!! Laurie O.

I'm suprised to see the problems everyone is having, I had a c5/6 anterior discectomy with fusion 4 days ago, I dont have any real pain anymore except for the numbness in my left thumb and forearm, all the terrible pain I had in my left shoulder and arm is however gone.

Hi, I recently had c5-c6 acdf and have numbness in my jaw, which I'm not sure is a common symptom, but I've not experienced the post surgery problems that you have. I'm sorry the hear that. I am also 47, and before there surgery, feel like I was 87. My my disk was deteriorated and already herniated, when a car accident erupted symptoms throughout my body, so from the compression of my spinal cord at c5-c6. I wish you well.

I just had fusion surgery on C3-7, 5 days out and I feel better then I have felt in 15 years. Had bone on bone, bone spurs and total numbness down my right arm that woke me up out of a dead sleep nightly. Please find a good surgeon, mine is Jeremy Denning in Dallas. I'm so lucky I didn't cause permanent nerve damage, or maybe I did, but I already see the light at the end of the tunnel. Copchick is right though, wearing this neck brace is a pain.

I am a 78 years old female taking Lyrica, oxycodone and Hydromorphone for severe pain in arm caused by cancer in C-7 spinal column. Current blood pressure is 91 over 66, with a pulse rate of 96. Is that normal?
