Ok, I just had this happen to me ! Exactly as described. SCARY ! Feels like I'm going to die. It has only happened to me twice in my life, years ago. The first time was when my girlfriend made me this really good and salad. It had fruits and nuts etc, which I don't usally eat. I'm not a heath nut. I remember was really hungry and ate two bowls. Today, I had a breakfast burrtto and coffee for breakfast and held off for dinner. I ate a Fuji apple at pm to kill the hunger, trying to loss weight. I just bought the apple from an orchard in NC and washed it before I ate it. I used a clean knife to cut it and twenty mins. later it happened. Feel like I swallowed the apple whole. I wanted to throw it up but it was stuck feeling. I took some tums and tried to throw up to relieve the pressure. It has now passed at 6 pm and I going to eat mexcian food. The apple must passed on down. Oh, I'm, 53 year old male, average condition, 195 lbs, 5 8 who just finished a physical exam, including a EKG, stress test, blood work up,,,, heathly as a middle age horse.

Ok I talked to a ICU nurse today and he told me that he had the same thing happen. He said it feels like an allien is going to burst out of your chest. A ripping feeling. I said yes, right where the little pointy thing between the joining of the ribs to the sternum. I was all ready pointing to the spot. He asked if I drank water when I was eating and I told him "never". I drink after the meal. He said that when it happened to him he didn't think he was going to make it home. I asked if I ate the apple fast and I said "yes", because I was really hungry. He explained to me that sometimes food can become a blockage for one reason or another. As we get older, muscles get weaker and might be from some damage from gastric issues.
After we talked I went back and read all the prior posts an one struck home for me. It asked a question "does the the pain made you want to lay stil or move around". Mine was to move. The first time it happen I walked outside and wandered the yard. Now keep in mind, I never had dierrea or fainting. Just bloating, but I did have the iching plams and feet. Anyway, I'm conviced my two triggers were two bowls of salad and one large Fuji apple, that all consumed too fast.

I'm a 27 year old woman. Just had another episode this past weekend (extreme dizziness, diarrhea, vomiting, itchy palms, feet, redness, hives). I passed out on my bathroom floor for an hour. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer two years ago and have already undergone my surgery last year. My endocrinologist says it probably isn't thyroid doing this. And my PET-CT scan looks spotless and have been tested for allergies, but couldn't find anything there either. It seems to be coming in 4-6 time frame for me. Hope you're recovering well from your surgery.

I get most of these symptoms before a migraine. And with Prodromes ( physical symptoms or warnings) some people don't actually get the headache so they don't make the connection.

I have had this for the past year or so, anyone else noticed a change in everyday life like feeling dizzy when getting up or feeling extremely tired all the time and really bad headaches? Not been feeling myself for a while had loads of blood tests and nothing. Having a episode right now actually, feeling sick, faint, stomach pains, itchy hands. Any advise much appreciated

I am so happy I stumbled on this board! I was in the ER last night with one of my episodes and just like everyon else, have no answers. My symptoms are like everyone's: happens at night, explosive diarreah, itchy hands, sometimes itchy mouth/ears/scalp, excessive sweating, passing out or feeling like I will, and then the shakes. Last night was the first time I went to the ER because the shakes were so bad.

I had a CT-Scan of my abdomen which was fine. They did blood work which was fine. I have had allergy tests and the only thing that showed was a possible issue with dairy. I will admit to having had a lot of dairy lately, so it could be that.

But also, like someone else, I just finished my period and last night was having extreme uterine cramping, and then today light spotting. I did read somewhere that a food allergy response can can cause uterine pain - not sure if they are connected.

One thing I am curious about: has anyone had their blood sugar checked during an attack? Or does anyone have diabetes? I wonder if this could be that?

My Dad has ideopathic anaphylaxis and my symptoms are quite similiar. I am on Celexa and take a Prilosec and Claritin daily. I might switch to Pepcid and Zyrtec, based on what others said.

I am so relieved to know I am not crazy and not alone!

Like many of you I have been suffering from these 'episodes' for several years. It starts with itchy hands and I immediately take an antihistamine. I then get stomach cramps, shortness of breath and heart palpitations before the most horrendous diahorhoea and I pass out. My husband now has to hold me in a sitting position on the toilet to prevent me from collapsing into the floor. Otherwise it is s choice between laying down or not making it to the toilet. They have recently become more frequent and more severe. I started keeping a food diary about a year ago as I was convinced it must be something I am eating or a combination of things I am eating. However having not found any correlation I have now sought medical advice. Having had blood tests for everything and a scan of my internal digestive system and organs my GP is still baffled. The tests show me as being a picture of health! She initially suggested either migraine, a form of epilepsy or a sudden release of hormones into my system. She is going with her instinct and I have been referred to an endocronologist. I will keep you all posted as to theoutcome

What was the outcome?

The endocrinologist said it is unlikely to be a hormone related problem. The fact that I am exhausted after suggests it is a kind of seizure. I have am MRI on my brain booked in a few weeks and tests for gastric peptides next week. Will keep you posted.

A similar thing happened to me the other day.. I just came back from a walk to the river and I began really really hot and started sweating, then I started to get really itchy all over my body and I thought it was just from sweat rash. It was so insane I took off most of my clothes right in front of my friend and then I started to feel like I couldn't breathe properly (I have asthma) and it took a lot of effort just to get one breath out. At this point I went into a panic which made it worse. I felt so dizzy that any movement in the room at all, even my friend walking round made me feel like I was going to spew. I then ran to the bathroom and sat there in pain for a little bit, wanting to spew but not being able to because I hadn't had much to eat. My vision was also going funny and I couldn't talk. finally while sitting on the toilet I threw up on the floor and wall. I screamed for my friend to call the healthline but all they did was keep asking questions that I couldn't even answer because my thought was so closed up, then I got up and collapsed on my mates bed, still half naked, feeling like I had been drugged or something. Then the ambulance came and gave me some pills for nausea and I was feeling fine. All this only last about an hour but it felt like forever. I've only had one other thing like this happen before but this time was much scarier, and I hadn't had any drugs or alcohol. The only thing is that I took a quarter of an acid tab in the afternoon the day before, and the hospital thinks it could be that, but I also had a quarter of a tab the night before that, and I had been fine. When the attack happened the acid had long wore off so I pretty much have no idea if it was the acid or not. heeeeeelpppp? ):

Hi, I am 51 year old woman and have been having these symptons on and off since i was in my 20's. After reading through all these posts it and following up on various websites, video information sites that it seems most likely to be mast cell activation symptonology. We all seem to have had an alergic reaction to something, as individuals it will be different for everyone, also not the same reaction for each person. I have only had episodes once or twice a year, sometimes evening skipping a few years. Not medicaly minded but if it is a histamine intolerance certainly the various anti histamines will be useful and a lot of people do seem to be suggesting that.   Everyone is slightly different but with the same basic symptons:

stuffy nose, pounding head, followed by itchy feet and hands, nausea and dyorhea .

Fortunately for me i generally feel better after 30 minutes or so, although a lot of people obviously suffer more.

Whilst its good to know i'm not alone especially when people look at you "blankly" its still very frustrating trying to figure things out. Good luck everyone.

I was diagnosed with independent generalized seizures back in 2011 (focal seizures, temporal lobe epilepsy). Though they say my seizures are under control with medications, my EEGs still show 'seizure potential'. I frequently suffer a 'cluster' of symptoms, always occurring together, which I believe are related to my autonomic nervous system - possibly even seizures - though doctors aren't listening. These symptoms often last days and worsen at night: agitation, drenching sweats (entire torso is saturated with sweat, neck is wet, hair near neck is wet, sweaty underwear), severe insomnia (can't fall asleep until 4:00am or 5:00am & not even tired), severe bloating & a sickeningly salty taste in my mouth, and lately I've been having episodes during which the heels of my feet start itching like mad at night - sometimes only one, sometimes both. This may sound crazy, and maybe it's because I have epilepsy and that 'seizure potential' is still evident on my EEGs - maybe these are even seizures involving the autonomic nervous system, I don't know? But I've noticed these 'spells' are related to geomagnetic/solar activity. Seriously, I just had a cluster for daysss - it was due to a large filament eruption. Once the filament erupted I felt somewhat better. I've been following space weather daily for yearsss. Seriously, check these daily...there are other websites too...I'll bet you notice a correlation.
