I just stumbled on this sight and was amazed to see people who suffered the exact same symptoms as I used to have. These "attacks" we're a major quality of life issue for me. I was afraid to travel or to eat out. I found a doctor who did some very comprehensive testing on me. In the end, he discovered that my gallbladder was working at only 40% efficiency. This wouldn't show up on an MRI, but it does on a HIDA test. He prescribed Welchol (strangely, a cholesterol medication) which I have been taking with every meal now for the last three years. I haven't had an attack since I started the medication. It has been a life changer for me. I hope this helps someone out there.

Hi, just reading your post and wondered if you've got a diagnosis for your symptoms as I have the same episodes and really don't know what's causing it and they are very frightening as you will know. Hope you don't mind me asking, it just driving me made not knowing. Thank you xx

MarilynM....I'm sylvia and have had the same symptoms as nearly everyone else on this site....my feet & hands sting & burn...not itch. Having been keeping records since October 2014 and after having read your comments, I realized that every time I've had the symptoms I've eaten something wi Carrageenan or had liquid coffee creamer in my coffee. Did you go to an allergist for your diagnosis or just figured it out thru process of elimination. Noticed that your post was over a year ago...have u had any more episodes? Thanks for your help

I had these exact symptoms around Fall 2004. My duplex had black mold on the ceiling from a roof leak. After leaving that place, I haven't had an attack that bad since. Every once in a while I get rumbles in my tummy and diarrhea, but not sweating, racing heart, diarrhea, itchy hands and feet, hot and cold off and on. If I have---doesn't happen very often for me to remember. Recently, I got diarrhea and itchy feet, so I decided to look it up and found this thread. I have TMJ and oxalate/purine issues (I get toe or finger pain if I eat foods high in them). Look up mold exposure and mold allergies. I feel much better eating a mold free diet and getting out of workplace and duplex that had mold in it. Maybe you guys feel worse at night/morning because that is when you are home from work and breathe in mold spores being released at home? MOLD is nothing to mess around with. My boys and I are really allergic to it and so are many of my family members including my grandma and aunt.

I just had my 3rd bout with this. Just now. My esophagus starts feeling tight, my arms and hands start itching. I start feeling faint, my head is hot and eyes are red. Very unsettling feeling. I was in hospital for observation after passing out. They found nothing

I had all these symptoms people have listed, terrible episodes. l I did a detox & started eating healthier. Also, I drink 1 tsp. to one cup baking soda every night before bed, and if I am going to have a few drinks or eat out somewhere I take an allegra before hand. All my symptoms have since ceased.

I thought I had my episodes narrowed down to restaurant/fast food lettuce. But I just had an episode and haven't had lettuce today.

This episode started with severe cramping and grumbling in my intestines. Went to toilet and waited doubled iver in pain for the explosive diarrhea to work its way to my colon, mean while beginning to sweat profusely and feeling tingly/numb in my extremities.

After vacating the diarrhea and getting up from the toilet, my hands turned beet red and itched so bad I could have set them on fire to make it stop. In about 15 minutes of rubbing them against anything I could find to scratch they returned to normal color and stopped itching. Now I'm just exhausted. And, I just had a profound thought -- there is a single common denominator between all of us.... we are wiping our butts with toilet paper!!!! Could this be a tree pulp allergy that is causing the itchy hands???? Hmmmmm.

Let's stay in touch. Good luck to all. O, the cramps are starting again, poof.....

I cannot believe I've found this site! I'm going through all of this too, usually late at night, usually around my period. I thought I was losing my mind!!! Though I hate that there are other folks going thru this too, I'm glad to know I'm not alone and it doesn't seem that serious.

My 9 year old daughter is having the symptoms, we had her to the emergency room 4 times within 6 months and they look at us like ( why are we here) I'm like are you kidding , I was so scared , I said she was passed out . We still don't know what's causing this. We tested for allergic reactions, ashram, now we can't sleep at night because we are afraid it will happen again!

I had surgery in May 2015 (total thyroid removed with the thyroid cancer and lymph nodes removed but found to be ok). I have not had any of the symptoms I described since.
