Hi, my names Rachael and heres a brief history:- March/April 2011

Was feeling very cold and had pain in my lower abdomin on the left hand side on a Friday 11th March, by the saturday I had very bad head pains starting from the back of my head. On the sunday had stomach pains all night and by the monday morning was shaking, felt sick and could not take anymore so my b/f rang 999.

Monday 14th March @ 7am: On arrival at the hospital they gave me so much medication (morphine, IV paracetamol, diclofenac, buscopan,) I was in the worst pain of my life. They did a scan on my stomach that confirmed I has a 6cm Cyst on my left Ovary that had twisted. They were very busy and told me to come back for a date to operate in two weeks (29th March) and sent me home.

I stayed off work that week but still in lots of pain.

Monday 21st March went back to work: experienced pains down my leg and took medication to try and ease the pain until my two weeks was up.

Tuesday 22nd March: Still in lots of pain, very pale, hurt me more to sit down at my desk @ 12pm called the hospital ward who discharged me and the nurse said probably a trapped nerve if still worried see my own GP. Tried to sit pain out feeling stupid and like I was overreacting. By 5pm I could take no more, I walked to the local walk-in centre where it was an hours waiting time, after 15mins I was screaming in agony even though I was dosed up with pain relief. The nurse took my BP and it was 171/81 and called for an ambulance. The hospital was bursting at the seems with patients and I was almost turned away. They again gave me Morphine/IV Paracetamol etc. They did a further scan (internal) the following morning and said my Cyst had burst and was now 2cm. This discharged me the following day (thursday) and told me to go back to 1st hospital for my follow up appt.

Tuesday 29th March attended hospital told them I still felt pain and had lots of pain down my legs and the bottom of my legs felt numb. Doctor didn't seem bothered said leg pain was not due to Cyst and to go and see my own GP and to come back to see her in 2 mths to see if my Cyst had filled back up again.......I left feeling like a hypochondriac.

Wednesday 30th March: went to see my own GP who said the pain WAS due to the ruptured cyst and signed me off work for a couple of days.

Monday 4th &5th April: still do not feel well, feel so weak and pain has now gone to the right side, it feels like a knawing pain like little flutters/stabbing pain in my right Ovary. I have not come on my period that was due on the 28th but this does not feel like Period pains. My boss allowed me to work from home but I feel like I should be better know and people may think i'm faking this, I'm so upset, when I look in the mirror I don't look like me, I look like i've aged, i'm in constant pain and just want to go to bed all the time.

Wednesday 6th April - due to go in work dreading this day, I don't want to collapse in pain and embarrass myself!

Can anyone help me? xxx
Hello Rachael,
I am experiencing the same thing. I've had a ruptured cysts over 3 weeks ago. I am now having leg pains that two doctors say are related to the rupture and 3 say its not. I am also experiencing pain where my ribs are and across my chest. So I'm curious to know ...how did it go for you?

Hi Rachel, I am going throughthe exact same thing at the moment, I have had a few cysts on both ovaries rupture over the past week and a 7.5cm cyst on thr left ovarie, which has landed me in hospital twice, the pain is excruciating!! I have been going to work as they have told me i have had to much time off already (5 days) many of my work colleagues tell me how awful I look and ishould be at home resting, or in hospital, but there is one lady who I spend all day with who thinks I'm just pretending and won't acknowledge the fact of how much pain I am in, she really thinks its not that bad and told me she suffered with period pain much worse then what I have have. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and it takes alot for me to cry, especially in front of people I don't know very well, and this pain has brought me to tears in front of my work work collegues, you know wht thas lady said to me - well I do hope you will be in at work tomorrow. It's hard to understand how some people can be so cruel straight to your face when you already feel like death. I'm sorry to hear about your awful experience as well, I guess nobody understands until they have the horrible time going through it themselves. I certainly wouldn't wish this upon anyone ever.

Hi ladies, I am having the same pain as you although I feel as though your pain seems a little worse than mines. I have had in the past a ovarian cyst burst and it was very unpleasant to say the least. Your body gets really cold and you start to feel really tired and weak. Anyways as of now I had a 4cm cyst on my right side that hurts so bad. To the point that both of my sides are in constant pain and my back is always hurting. Its been a constant pain for about a week or two now. I have been to the hospital 3 times for this and they all say its ok it should go away. I think they are missing the point of how bad it truly hurts.  So i went to the hospital yesterday in pain and they gave me pain meds after i asked for them and then sent me to get some tests I come back and they told me my cyst had ruptured but not completely. Weird i thought. So now it is a 2cm cyst and gave me anti inflammatory medicine to kill any infection. I feel your pain ladies I do. Sorry you all are going through this. As far as the leg pain mines is just starting but after reading what you ladies are going through I really dont think i can deal with it.; The back pain and side pain is enough. My arms have been constantly sore and my heart has been hurting but everything seems to come back normal except for the cyst. Hope you ladies found away to cope of at least got your issues resolved.
