Also the doctor will inform you about treatment options and this usually includes ice packs or ice massage for about 15 minutes few times during the day. Your doctor will probably prescribe you some anti-inflammatory medications and you need to take those as he said.
Also you can perform light exercises during your recovery but try not to exaggerate. Swimming is a great way to do this and it will help your whole body to be relaxed and more cooperative for faster recovery.
