Hi A month ago I went to the ER due to severe abdomal pain. Like as bad as contractions. I'm a woman 35 years old had three children in the past 9 years. good health no surgerys in the past have all my organs etc... When I went to the ER they had me do a MRI which they say they had found a ulcer. So I went on Nexium 40 mg 2 x a day for 1 month. Off of meds now. As of last Thursday now I feel pain on my lower left side directly across from my belly button. Same symptoms as my ulser has but not as severe. it comes and goes.I just had a scope down my belly and they said my ulcer is gone however the Dr. whom proformed the procedure informed me he doesen't think I ever had a ulcer. So they preformed blood work. I have gotten the results back as of yet. Any idea what this may be??? Possibly my gallbladder. No other symptoms other then this sharp pain on my left side.
Gallbladder attacks usually cause pain in the upper middle or upper right abdomen, not on the left side. A side stitch due to spasm of the diaphragm muscle can cause the pain that you are experiencing. To rule out acid burn, you can take some antacid to see if it helps.

I recommend that you search steadyhealth forums for "abdomen swollen dull pain on left side" for more information.

I agree, it's in the wrong s pot for gall blader.
Did it flare up after eating greasy foods? Bacon? Onions? Vitamin C?

I'd be more concerned that it might be apendix, except it's on the wrong side again.

However, some apendix flare ups start on the left side, and then as they intensify, move to the right lower quadrant and are extremely tender.

This is all speculation.

I'd trust your doctor's lab work to narrow it down.

Good luck, and let us know what turns out, ok?
