Even I have the similar pain and looking for answers. I have been operated for a spinal tumor twice and this time the pain is so bad and terrible in my front rib cage under the breast. I had the spinal surgery 2 months back. Please help me get rid of this as this is becoming unbearable now. If anyone has reply kindly send it to _[removed]_

My daughter had scoliosis surgery on Nov. 21. She has been experiencing severe rib pain. Is the common?

I had lumbar survery at L3-4 and L5-S1 for herniated disks. Diskectomies were completed. Woke up with severe left frontal rib cage pain - under the breast and the immediate surrounding area. Per my orthpedic surgeoun it is due to the way you are positioned on your abdomen for surgery. If the padding is not placed correctly you can suffer fractured ribs. Make sure you have documentation of this in your medicat record for potetial legal issues relaed to extended recovery time.
